Want to honor all the fathers, and all the men who admirably fulfill father roles in the lives of their families and communities.
So important in the life of a child! Of course, it's purely the luck of the draw-- like everything else, some of us have poor fathers, indifferent fathers, and some are fortunate to have had great fathers, who were central to our development as human beings.
Through no merit of mine, or my sisters, we lucked into a loving, kind, strong and nurturing Dad, who fully supported our mother and each of us four girls, through all our travails. We all felt loved, and appreciated as individuals, by him. He did it all with the sunny nature and ready "twinkle" that was his calling card.
Thanks, Dad, for all that, for the fun, the expectations, and for what was your greatest gift to me-- the stories of inspiration that you read and explained to me, the prayers you prayed with and for me.
I so appreciate all the other positive Dads out there, ones I know and most others I'll never know, who contribute so much to society, to stability and progress, by working hard, sacrificing and being strong role models for their children and others who struggle.
Many many thanks.

This will be the first Father's Day for my kids without their dad here...he passed away in April. I know they will be thinking of him...the first holiday after a loss is always the hardest.

I too want to offer appreciation for all men that were true fathers, and more. They considered having offspring more than just adding a number to the population, or even nefarious reasons.
There are way too many, like the man I experienced, that was only a sperm donor. A lot of the social problems in our country just might be fewer if all men actually became true Fathers. JMO.
This day is meant for them, and well deserved.

Thinking about my wonderful Dad who passed 38 years ago & all the sacrifices he made for us.I think about him often.
I also have to give props to my incredible DH.He gives me all the credit for the way our son turned out. The truth is,I could never have done it without him. He worked hard, but always had time for our son. He demonstrated what a devoted husband & father looks like.
I know there are many great dads out there. They all deserve to be acknowledged & respected. Not just the biological ones but the adoptive ones too. Also,to the men who have stepped up to parent a fatherless child. Thank God for all of you!!
