They would not have known (or cared).  I can call corporate next week to get a better answer.

Not sure why you felt it necessary to write your 1st sentence in your reply to @CoffeeNut. So I will ask, why did you add the "or cared"?

Not sure I understand your point.  I was replying to a remark made about asking an employee.  I believe I addressed the correct person.

I'd recommend diversifying your grocery sources so you don't have all your (expensive?) eggs in one basket. I get meal prep boxes from Hello Fresh and EveryPlate, so I always have plenty of fresh groceries on hand for our main meals. I don't have to deal with the seemingly dangerous freakout-level stress some of you seem to be constantly subjected to every day.

These companies use different suppliers than grocery stores. I think some of their suppliers are restaurant and hospitality suppliers, actually. Doing this really helped my household get through the pandemic with less supply drama than a lot of people seemed to be having.

Everyplate is $5 per meal per person, plus shipping. So it's actually a genuine recommendation that might help people financially as well as ease their minds about having enough groceries, but I do enjoy some good snark and yours is well received.

Your post was condescending so I responded accordingly. I do appreciate the info on the meal kits though.

I live in the southern tier in NYS..1 supermarket in town.

Still can't find dry cat food..canned is getting a little easier to find but not all flavors..Can't get individual juice boxes or individual  bottles of  juice.

Paid $4.90 for gas yesterday

Take what you like and leave the rest, I always say. If you had a track record of showing genuine care about what I write, I might be open to your criticism.

I think there are much worse things going on in the world besides expensive eggs, so I am going to continue to find weird freakouts on the subject here pretty funny. You might prefer to avoid reading my posts on those threads.

Have you not been to a grocery store in a while? The nationwide grocery store chains are all bare. Just another sign of these lovely times.

Oh, brother. Talk about your extreme over exaggeration. No, the grocery store chains shelves are not all bare.  The ones we use are very well stocked and we have no problem getting what is on our list.  No problems in our area in Me, NH, or when I shop for my mom in Ma.  Fear mongering.

Re: Grocery Store Stock Issues?

I am in WV and shop at IGA exclusively.  I need to go to the store but will probably wait until Sunday.

I receive my retirement money on the 17th, as do many others, so the second big hit to local grocery stores is this week.  If I go now, there will be low stock on eggs, milk, bread, and many other items.

Our Kroger does a booming business as far as pick up orders.  People who try to shop there in person are the ones complaining about low or no stock, and that is due to the volume of orders they fill for pick up.  I am not aware of store delivery in this area.

The only other grocery store here is WalMart.  I haven't been in the store for 5 years, so have no idea about the stock on their shelves.   My friend is still doing limited pick up orders, but has learned the hard way about what to order from that store.

Sams is just too far away when gas is $4.49, but I do order canned and packaged staples from there for FedEx delivery.

Re: Grocery Store Stock Issues?

I went to pick up dinner today and noticed lots of empty shelve. I mentioned it to someone stocking them and they said thet they move the stock around every Thursday to accomodate the new sales circular thats starts on Friday. Stock being moved to endcaps and  display areas. There was plenty of meat and chicken. We had Lamb Chops with tzadiki, zucchini, and baked potato.

Re: Grocery Store Stock Issues?

I'm in California and yes we are bare on some items,  especially pet food. Like fancy feast.  Even Amazon is hit and miss and jacks up prices.  Also, some chicken choices and frozen items.  I am having trouble getting whole romaine lettuce. Some candy selections, chips and such  They always seem out, yet they have exotic fruits like ugli fruit and such.
