Here's a news flash -- the custpmer service rep probably did not know.  What was the purpose of the call back?  To complain?  Tp harrass the poor customer service agent?

So, you didn't get a call back.  Your service was bck on.  What purpose would a call back have accomplished?

While it may seem simple to you, it isn;t.  I worked in cable television call cnter operations for more than 11 years, and most of the time (with the exception of large, wide-spread outages), the representative on the phone will have no specifics.  The only thing the complaint calls serve to do is tie up resources so that other people have to wait to get their calls answered.

As for credit, if your TWC bill is anything like mine (I have the same services), four hours without ser ic is equal to less than one dollar.  Is your time, frustration, and additional calls to TWC as well ass postings here worth that?  Surely, your time is more valuable than that.

You really were  a call center representative....I can tell by that great attitude.

I was satisfied with Dish, but I thought it was too expensive. We don't have it here.

Yesterday my triple play (TV, Internet, and Phone) went out at 4:00 pm (I live in NYC, weather couldn't have been an issue). Well it was out for 4 hours! I have an elderly mother and thank goodness I have a Tracfone for emergencies. I called TWC and all they tell you (a recording) is there is a problem in my area, if I want they will call me when service returns. I put in for the phone call, did they let me know, NO!! I spoke to CS today, I wanted to know what the problem was yesterday, she didn't know. I asked why no call back, she didn't know. I asked if I'll be getting a credit to my account she said I would (I bet it amounts to nothing and if you don't call maybe you don't get it).Just terrible service from TWC. Oh yeah, after I get off the phone with CS TWC has the nerve to want me to take a survey, I hung up!

It's not Time Warner anymore - it's now Spectrum Cable (which used to be called Charter).

The deal has been done and the former CEO of TWC has collected his 80 MILLION + bonus.

Now Spectrum will have to pay for the new company and try to accomodate the needs of its customers too.

@terrier3 this is another one of my frustrations . . . this guy get 80 million dollars and we end up paying for sub-standard cable services . . . grrrrr.

I worked for them for many years as an account executive. Our commission started at 10%, then 8%...finally ended up at 3%. We used to receive 1% bonuses for making 110% of our annual budgets - that was removed too...they said too many people were overachieving and they didn't want to have to pay out anymore.

They did such a GREAT job "cutting overhead" that when they were sold, the CEO got over 80 million and our advertising VP received 13 million.

The workers who made the company great - our pay was CUT 66%!!!

@Nataliesgramma as I am currently feuding yet again with Comcast I was wondering how you like your Direct TV service (and also may I ask what part of the country you live in so I can compare weather systems (I live in the Chicagoland area)).

Many thanks for any assistance you can lend!  Smiley Happy

@momtochloe WE live in NE Ohio and love the Direct TV. It does go out when HEAVY rain comes (for maybe 10 or 15 minutes) and we had to dust it off when we had a snowstorm (it isn't on the roof) other than that, we never have any problems, The bill has gone up after the 2 year deal...but I had Time Warner here AT LEAST once a month for about 2 years. I would get digital breakup when it rained...when it was hot when squirrels chewed on the wires. I was tired of having to reset the cable box constantly and making appts for a tech to come out.

I am very happy with Direct TV's customer service too. Hubby tried to do some kind of set up with his Playstation ON THANKSGIVING DAY and we couldn't get the Direct TV back up. I called CS and the very nice lady walked me through hooking it back up and resetting the box. She was very patient and made sure it was all working right before we hung up. She told me not to kill my hubby bcause it was a holiday (jokingly...she new I was irritated with him)...

@Nataliesgramma thank you so much for this!  Believe it or not, my ex-husband and I installed Direct TV on our own when it first was introduced and I loved it!  Hardly ever went out even during bad weather which I cannot say for Dish as I had nothing but problems with it.

I know I am crawling back to AT&T as I have always been pleased with them and their CS (just wasn't happy with the price) but I just cannot take another minute of Comcast's nonsense.

Thank you again for your reply, I really appreciate it!  Smiley Happy

[ Edited ]

i have had comcast for 20+ years now. i have verizon at work. i have time warner in so cal when i am there. overall, i have been satisfied with comcast and their customer service and programming. i spend a lot of money on cable/internet/phone and i do expect the services to be maintained at a certain level. there is a customer service center a few miles away, i can always reach them on the phone, and i can get online help. they will also give you a $20 credit if a technician fails to show up at his scheduled time.

i refuse to get DISH/DIRECT TV, even though they seem to push it every time i go into sams club.

i think they are ALL basically the same and in order to play "the game" they all offer deals for a period of time. the trick is to call them every six months or so and tell them you are thinking of switching. they usually go through your bill and find SOMETHING to bring the cost down.....or give you channels for free for a period of time.

I could dump cable and get Direct TV, but Verizon internet is so very slow.

@sunshine45 thanks for this but maybe the difference is the amount and price of services involved here.  I fully get if someone is paying for high end service they should receive high end CS but for me all I am asking for if I am paying something I shouldn't have to haggle with their billing every month because it is always wrong.  It's not service so to speak but simple transactions that never seem to go well.  I am once again being billed for a DVR that I never ordered and started this latest spiral into insanity.

I wish I had your clout to get free stuff . . . . Smiley Happy

I have Money Cast( Comcast). You may want to signup to receive a text message when your service has an outage. MC has a Comcast Cares Twitter acount. I check an outage there, and get a text when service is restored.

Re: Good Old Time Warner Cable

Yeah these things are frustrating but it happens and you just have to wait until it gets fixed.

A few weeks ago, I arrived to work and we had no telephones, no internet and no cable.  We contacted TWC and were told there was a fiber optics outage in our area that they were working on.  Service never resumed that entire work day.  It was pretty bad to have businesses without phone service for an entire day but it wasn't their fault.
