If this ever happens in NY and I get stopped I will fight it to the ends of the earth. It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. I can go to the grocery store but not for a ride alone in my car?
I'm even more disturbed by people saying well I'll just do what they tell me to when it comes to this topic.

My Snowbird neighbors went for a drive from Ft. Meyers, Fla. to their home next door to me in N. WI.. They just rolled in trailer and all. What gets me is the past 10 years they always came back the first week of May. Never ever a different time of return.
We have had a nice Spring so guessing ,selfish reasons to return early. Everyone is entitled to do what they want when they want I guess?Wisconsin Stay at home is to end April 24th. Ironically he is a retired Deputy Sheriff.
Our local media was begging seasonal people to delay coming North and this week saying although Property Tax payers and can't make them stay home to please stay out of our stores and bring their supplies and groceries. We have a small town of 5000. Our population triples in summer. We had our first case announced a few days ago. It will be interesting if they at least quarantine for two weeks.
I am just disgusted. I really don't have much contact with them other to wave. There was a sign in a closed local business. "What part of keeping your BU** home is so hard to understand?"

One person in this county was cited recently for not following the stay at home order, but it was a secondary charge added on to the main law breaking reason police were called.

I hear you and agree with you 100%.
People are willingly giving up their rights, and are blind to that fact, and once those rights are gone, they are hard to get back.
History is full of times where those in power controlled the masses by having edicts that were cloaked in "for the better good", when in reality, wasn't.
And that's all I'll say about that.

I have sympathy for your neighbors. Being property owners gives them the right to occupy their own property, regardless of what they did in the past.

@pigletsmom You can drive in NY but there is an 8 pm curfew. I can't make the font any bigger, sorry.

@proudlyfromNJ The 8 pm curfew here is for businesses from what I can find. A few places arounded the state have put in curfews on actual people but you can still go out for essentials or even for exercise so it seems sort of pointless.
Whether or not NY decides to go all in on this stuff down the road I'll continue to tell my parents to go for a ride. It's the only thing they can do since they can't go to stores or anyplace else.

I know I am feeling kinda stir crazy for sure and a nice drive would be great. BUT we usually only go out when it is for essential errands....we did go pick up carry out at a local Mexican place we love to eat at so that was great. H took the main drag to get there instead of the awful freeway. It was really packed with traffic! I was so surprised.
And some of the people not paying attention and doing things like instead of getting in the turning lane (or even using their signal) would just drive along slow and back and forth and then suddenly just make a left turn! My H was really upset yesterday...what is wrong with people. LOL
He regretted not taking the freeway after that incident. There were others but more minor. I am wondering if people are forgetting how to drive![]()

@pigletsmom We've been going for rides and see other cars out and haven't had any problems. We are also in NY and in one of the worst counties for the virus.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 wrote:@tobes We haven't gone just riding around. Since finding out walking/hiking was ok but just going for a ride was not, we will do what they say, of course.
My car gets driven once every 10 days to 2 weeks for food runs. DD goes for mail once or twice a week and every now and then to the convenience store for milk.
I know my luck, if I tried going on back roads, sure as God makes little green apples, something would happen and I'd be ticketed. (After all I'm the same person that got pregnant 10 yrs. after my tubes were tied and cauterized to boot.) No I won't do any undo riding around.
At this point if they said to just stay in your closet I'd do it. Anything to end this sooner.
I agree with this 100%. Whatever it takes. Having to stay home and going out only for necessities is not the worst thing in the world. People should just flippin' do that!
