@Deree, Unfortunately, there are some people who don’t recognize just how insidious this disease is. When my daughter contracted this virus, she recognized the symptoms, stayed home, consulted with her physician via Skype, got a prescription faxed to her. She went to a drive through testing site and waited 11 days for for her results. Imagine if she was out and about for those 11 days? We were blessed that she healed at home and that her DH had a negative test.
She works as a scientist at a university lab and is very meticulous about all interactions. She was just told that she might not have immunity from this virus in the future. So much is unknown about this virus.

My heart goes out to you. As a mom you must have been beside yourself. Am so glad your family came through having gone through what you have. You made such an excellent point and is the point that has stayed with me through this time. Which is so much is unknown about this virus. As there is nothing in the past, present to say what will happen moving forward. We are in complefely unprecedented territory which is why the reason for extreme caution. It is going to take time. We all want our "normal" but at what cost. It is up to each one of us to do what we need to do. For ourselves, those we love, each other. Until we have more answers. When that will be, no one knows.

@PamfromCT, I'm so happy that your daughter has recovered. My daughter and family have as well. Do you mind letting me know more about the information regarding immunity and the source? We've been trying to find out anything concrete because of our situation. TIA.

@suzyQ3, I am also so happy for you that this terrible scare had a happy ending.
My daughter was told about the immunity issue by a pulmonologist. It does make sense that no one knows about future immunity because this virus is so unknown and impossible to predict. I doubt there is anything published about this, as it would take a long time in the future to examine actual case studies and publish.
It’s actually a healthy thing, I think, to be unsure. We know how ultra careful one has to be, and it is for the best not to let one’s guard down. Of course, as mothers, our thought is that once in a lifetime is enough, but this virus does what it wants.
Probably the biggest takeaway is that it is thought it can be contracted through one person speaking to another - minute droplets that we all put out into the air when talking. I don’t know if this is a “given,” but it makes sense to me. You don’t have to encounter coughing and sneezing to get it. I just don’t know at this point! Maybe we will be wearing masks for a long time?
My DH and I are retired and up in years. Who would have thought of this? Please take care, everyone stay well, and God bless you and your family. If anything comes along that is definitive, I would love to pass it on.

The salon I go to is selling touch up kits for home use which I think is brilliant and I am going to have my husband cut my hair, I have extensions that have gotten too long and I am hoping he can cut a straight line

@Carol Diane wrote:@kivah , because those people are not touching you or near you for the length of time it took your hairdresser to wash, cut and blow dry your hair. How can you compare that to a liquor store or any store?
Who said I had a wash/cut and blowdry!!!!! It was just a haircut.
Going there was safer than me walking around Walmart 2 weeks ago. People are getting too paranoid.

They were on their own property. (He lives not far from me, and I know exactly where this was.)
I heard on the news that a father was playing catch with his son in front of their house - and he got ticketed. I see that Chris Cuomo is a JERK.

Why, did he enter a private home to get an illegal haircut?

@kivah, I'd love to see that story. I bet that there is more to it than a father and son playing catch.
