I love watching this network . . . so many beautiful pieces and it's nice to know they are quality pieces . . . I was watching right before Christmas and they had the most beautiful engagement ring on and I thought the price was more than a bargain.

I still have two pieces of jewelry I purchased when Kathy Levine used to do the "Once in a Lifetime" shows . . . when I lost my job I sold off a lot of my gold that I had purchased through the years but not those pieces as they are special to me.

I remember the Once in a Lifetime shows. I looked forward to watching them. I wish the Q would bring something similar back. It's great you were able to keep those pieces mtc. Great investment!

I got a lot of flack from people as I wasn't getting a good "return" on my investment but I was getting zip with it sitting in my jewelry boxes so I considered those transactions a win and it paid my mortgage for a couple of months so I more than appreciate that.

It was a more fun time to watch those shows and looking back I guess I felt we were purchasing something a bit more special.

To be completely honest, I very rarely watch any of the shopping channels anymore and when I do I am ashamed at the amount of returns I have due to issues that I had not experienced before.

I guess I'll just try on my Once in a Lifetime jewelry and be content with that! . . . Smiley Happy

Hi, again, @Irshgrl31201!  Sorry to take so long to reply.  Somehow I missed the Joseph Esposito shows.  I just looked with a search, and I can see why his work was so admired and popular.

@momtochloe, I'm sorry you had to sell some pieces, but it sounds like you still have the ones that were meaningful to you.Heart

@Say Nay and @momtochloe, I remember the "Once in a Lifetime" jewelry shows!  I have a beautiful channel-set ruby ring from one of the shows Mary Beth Roe hosted (isn't is funny the odd bits of trivia that stick in our memories?), and it's appraised now for more than it cost 'way back then.  Not that we should buy for the sole reason of "investment," but it's nice when it turns out well in that respect.Smiley

I have watched Shop LC, JTV, Gem Shopping Network, American Auctions Network, and of course HSN/QVC for years.

By far the best is Gem Shopping Network. They are higher because they have the best Jewelry.  I have never bought any Jewlery from QVC/HSN, but I have bought other types of items from them.  I liked Shop at Home a lot. I bought Moissanite from JTV, and quite a few pieces of Jewelry from Shop LC. I bought Art from American Auctions Network which now is out of business.

I have not bought anything from Gem Shopping Network because I use a Pre Paid Credit card. So, I would have to know in advance the price so I can load the card. Also, they don't use a payment system which I would need to buy $5000 item.

My favorite Gem is the Emerald, and my favorite kind of Jewelry is Vintage, antique, or Estate.  My overall favorite item to buy is unsearched Jewelry Boxes from a local online auction in my area. Because that is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are going to get.

I most likely will buy a strand of vintage Pearls from GSN because I think they are the best price. However, I am always looking for men's rings with Emerlad, Tsavorite Garnet, Dematoid garnet, Green Tourmaline, Chrome Diopside, or Green Jade,

I would predict a purchase sometime next year.  I will buy from Shop LC again.  I doubt if I will buy Jewelry from any others in the future, but you never know. Depends on the product offered. I think JTV only wants to sell women's Jewelry. JTV still has best choice for 'NEW" Pearls..

I  blog a lot on a site called TV shopping queens. You should give it a try and talk amongst us addicted TV shoppers.  I think you would like it.  We would love to hear your opinions.

I agree.  JTV has made so many changes. I think for the worse. When they started out , they sold Rolexes, Vintage Estate Jewelry, and actual Diamonds you could see. Now they are mostly interested in Women's issues .  I understand that women's jewelry sells more than Gents, but at least have some Men's jewelry offered on TV.  There Gem shows have declined each year.  Actually, they stopped those shows for awhile. Now they are bringing back the Valut Show which is actually an over promoted Gem Show. I don't watch them much anymore since I found Gem Shopping Network.  i used to really like JTV for Gem shows, Moissanite , Pearls, and Clearance silver shows, also Gold Oro shows and Pacific shows. They destroyed the Pacific Show, The Oro Gold shows are good but declining. I really only watch the Oro Gold and Pearls shows now. Every once in A while Silver show. JTV is too Hollywood driven , you know I am star ,you can be a star too. Too much red carpet ******.  Too many designers with marked up prices, which apparently know one buys or why do they dump them the first of each year. Why would I want to have what a star has?  The most immoral group of people with no standards  or has anyone been following what is going on there?

Shop LC offered a Men's Jewelry show for a while and did well ,selling out all the Men's Jewelry . I really loved that show, which they since have stopped.  Shop LC will not show a schedule to see what shows will be on.  I mostly buy from them with their auctions. They have the best auctions.

I used to buy from Bidz.com , but the last two items I bought from them was a month ago and I have yet to receive my order from them. I think they are about to out of business.

I liked Americas Auctions Network but they went out of business.

Check out TV Shopping Queens where all this is discussed and I am a contributer.
