I'm in DFW. Craziness!!!  Most stations now out of gasoline. Texas authorities say there is enough gas, it's just that the distribution system is stressed. People are panicking, topping off their tanks, stocking up, and the tanker trucks can't deliver and refuel fast enough. tracker.gasbuddy.com comes in handy. I'm just planning my trips more carefully for fuel efficiency -- I filled up on Monday. Today there are people causing traffic problems in intersections and along frontage roads as they wait in line, only to find out the station is out of gas. You'd think it was the apocalypse!!!!!  It's going to be tight for several days but all will be fine if the "animals" will just calm down. JEEZ

I'm in Virginia and a neighbor told me to get gas today because pricing were spiking. I went to Costco and I was surprised at the line at 2 pm on a Thursday.

Honestly, I have no idea what the price was and how much it changed since last week.

I'm bad about that.

Won't know if the gas supplies are really running out,

Yes, I didn't word my response very well.  The lines are indeed real, but my relative meant that the panic caused by the rumor was causing everyone to get in line to top off their tanks and making things worse.  I don't know if any town has enough gas for all the cars in that particular town all at once. Smiley Happy  Hoping things get better up there.

I'm in Colorado and there is a sense of panic at the pumps here, too. The attendant at the station near me said people were bringing their gas cans to fill them plus their cars were getting topped off as well.

I absolutely will defend @sidsmom oon this issue.

Her subject line was clear to me-but I'm 56. There were gas shortages back in the 70's- which led to....long lines of people waiting at gas stations to fuel up.

I absolutely do not agree with everything Sidsmom says, but we have made peace. She has a pure heart-I have NEVER seen her be discourteus to those who disagree with her-ever.

Instead, of CAUSTIC nasty words, she gives what she believes to be facts.....

I have had many fights with her-but I realized her heart is in the right place-and no, I don't believe everything she "plugs in" as truth....

She has always been gracious in replies-maybe not acceptable to all of us-me included.

We can all agree to....disagree....and vegetable consumption never hurts anyone.....

Please, can we try to be kinder?

A friendship hug.

@Poodlepet2 have I told you lately how completely fabulous you are?  And the same to @sidsmom how great to share, compare and as Poodlepet said maybe we could try and be a bit kinder in our responses?  Heart

Holy cow!

Here in Dallas, we have gas lines 10-40 cars deep.

Do you see any lines in your neck of the woods?

@sidsmom

Here in SA it was the same thing.......I went shopping to a large shopping center located on the edge of town....when it started getting late and we headed back to where we lived we thought the entire city was being evacuated, traffic was an absolute mess and it was almost 6:30 PM and usually rush hour traffic has cleared where we live...but it was just CRAZY!!!  I checked my phone and a news station reported that some idiot put out a message on social media that there was going to be a gas shortage and to get gas now....even though the news station said this was false, there may be a slight delay in distribution but plenty of gas.....our mayor even told everyone there is no gas storage and situation was being made worse when it didnt have to be because people were panicking!!!  And yes your right.......cars which snaked all over the roads waiting in line to get gas....INSANE!!!   The officials were saying that the distribution issue would be resolved in a couple days in the meantime plenty of gas (before the panic anyway)...........

But now gas could run out because of the stupidity of people believing a rumor on social media............Woman Frustrated

Oh my friend @Spurt never underestimate the power of folks that panic that don't take five minutes to verify whether something is true or not . . . . blech.

My radio guys referenced this tweet this morning.

This is what a listener saw on his way to work here in DFW.

Count the Red Flags....so much wrong with this.

Yes, those are unsecured trash cans.

We're proud here in Texas.

We're big here in Texas.

But there's nothing to say about being the brightest here in Texas..
