Holy cow!
Here in Dallas, we have gas lines 10-40 cars deep.
Do you see any lines in your neck of the woods?

yes, we have gas pipelines in my neck of the woods....they are really nice green belts where people walk their dogs.

I'm in Maryland, and I doubt we will have lines, but who really knows?
Regular was $2.47 at my Shell station, and that's with 5 cents off on Thursday.
Prices definetly jumped up in the last couple of days.

Hi @sidsmom....futures have already spiked 20% as this morning. One refinery is closed, and I highly doubt rigs are back in swing yet....
Harvey is definitely taking a bite out of highway transportation....and if the rain totals come to fruition, barge traffic will be slowed tremendously....
In addition to Irma, there's a low pressure system off the west coast of the Yucatan....I'd top off my car whether it needs gas or not....
It sounds like quite a few cities in Texas are without potable water. I'm stocking up on that too!
Out of curiosity, what are grocery prices doing in your area?
Hugs,
Poodlepet2

@SeaMaiden I believe she means cars lined up to get gas at gas stations.

I was talking to someone in Dallas last night who said that a lot of stations are out of gas down there, and people are going a bit bananas about it, understandably.
I keep track of the futures prices of crude oil, and they've dropped over the past several days, from $55/barrel to $52. Usually current gasoline and heating oil prices are roughly tied to that trend, but not now. Today's increase is 0.5% for heating oil and over 5% for gasoline.
I guess the question is how high prices will go and how long they'll stay there. I guess we'll get a better sense when the waters recede and they can analyze the refinery and processing situation.

No gas lines but our wonderful gas stations raised gas from $2.25 to $2.55 yesterday afternoon. I'm sure they'll say it's because of the hurricane when in reality they are just being greedy. I'm in Ohio!!!
Every so often a gas station in the area will lower gas for X number of hours to a ridiculously low price and the line to get gas will be crazy long. I remember after 9/11 sitting in a gas line for well over 30 minutes.

Grocery prices:
Haven't noticed anything out of line, yet...but I'm sure the grocery $$
will be next. When I get out tomorrow, I'll swing by the store & get some price comparisons. Will report back.
