Tansy, for me, salmon was a developed taste. Smiley Happy I love the Copper River the best.

Halibut is my favorite though. It's probably my favorite of any protein...I'll order it over steak any time. Smiley Happy

I *love* halibut! And sea bass. They are incredibly expensive, at least around here.

Hi Noel!!

We get halibut in "bulk". There is a place where you can buy the whole fish, half a fish, whatever. They will clean, debone and package for you. It's cheaper that way. But it's good food.

Sea bass...My uncle used to make that a lot on the grill.

Where's this halibut place, Marien? Love halibutSmiley Happy

Barlean' s Fishery, in Ferndale. They have a website, barleansfishery.com. Right now what's fresh are cod and rockfish. Halibut starts coming in May, June I believe.

Hi MK! Smile

There's an area down the coast where you can buy from the fishermen, and a place that cleans them up for you. I'll have to see what their prices are like.

Yes, maybe you can get it cheaper, and buy a bigger amount to last for awhile.

I bought some pre-made chicken burgers.....it had onion, roasted pepper, spinach, and a little mozzarella cheese, fried in a little olive oil, spinach sauteed with garlic and oil and roasted cauliflower drizzled with a little olive oil and some Italian seasoning.

PS.....Salmon was an acquired taste for me too an for some reason I only like it when I go out. I haven't perfected a cooking method at home and I hate the way it looks raw.

Your dinner sounds yummy! Can I come over? Smiley Happy

Salmon...I put olive oil on it, and Mrs Dash lemon pepper. In the toaster oven at 375 for 25-30 min, depending on thickness. Works every time and easy.

I mix a bit of horseradish with apricot jam to top the salmon with and cook almost the same as Marien.

I haven't had rockfish in awhile, either. Cod is ok, I like it in fish an err chips! Smiley Happy

One other fish we have sometimes is flounder. I like that breaded and with mashed potatoes. My uncle used to make that a lot, too. But you don't see it often on the West coast, at least I haven't.

Thanks tansy!

I had the jam and cider vinegar, but no horse radish! So I improvised...but it was good! Next time...horseradish! Smiley Happy
