The Who.
I may be in the minority, but when I was 30 or so, I was a huge fan of Tommy, the rock opera. Loved the who, but loved music from Tommy

@Carol Diane wrote:Lovetheshores....I dated a musician in Tom Jones' backup band when I was young. I didn’t appreciate Tom Jones then but even at that age, I knew he was a phenomenal showman. Fast forward to last year, my husband and I went to see him in concert and if you closed your eyes, you'd think he was 30 again. What a powerful incredible voice. But when I was young (and to this day) I loved the Beatles and Chicago.
loved Chicago still do !

Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin - his voice on record was like no other and the rock n roll was great - not to mention he was handsome
I think David Bowie would come in 2nd for me. I loved all his characters and the music that went along with them - Ziggy Stardust, Alladin Sane, Thin White Duke....
@jellyBEAN @agree about Robert Plant , his range was amazing ! And yes handsome too ! Led Zeppelin was very different for those times , no other band like them in the 70's .

My fav was Eddie Money.
I couldn't think of an individual singer ... they were always groups ... the Beatles did it for me.
it was mostly bands back then , not really individual singers . I never really thought about thst before . There could be a lead singer within the band though, it 2 as in the Beatles except George had a few songs, mostly Paul & John .
