No problem at all. It was just my impression of what was meant.

Sorry O/T but...once you start a thread you lose control of it. Surely you know that by now. Calling folks squatters that are ruining your thread is rude. But then I guess you knew that.

Coty you mean Silver Lotus's thread i think. WADR I agreed w her except I'd say hijack instead of squat.Happens a lot to threads here & it's like the elephant in the room we're not supposed to talk about jmho

Anyway I wish our lives would have ended on a good note and that we were still together. A death in his family broke us apart...........I miss those days in 1973-1977..........flying was fun and I was 17 when I got in my first airplane....the Cessna 182..........I was so scared but my mother said "V, if you don't get in that plane there will be another girl in that plane" so I went up and loved it.............we would just fly to a concert or fly to a big city and have hot cocoa on a winter's night and fly back home..........oh I wish we would have made it........life was grand then. But I am thankful for today. Waiting on my healing from the Savior.

At 17 you had your own plane? How old were you when you got your pilot's license?

I said I was 17 WHEN I GOT IN MY FIRST PLANE........it was my boyfriends, his dads and his brothers......I married him so it became mine also........but we divorced in 1979.....so only had it from 1973-1979. I was going to take lessons to fly and I knew that I could take off with no problem but landing..........no I could not do it........too much for me.......

The reason I loved it so much was that I was in love with my boyfriend that flew and his dad was the world's youngest commercial airline pilot....he flew for Pan Am as Captin at 19.......really...........my father in law started flying at 12.......then my boyfriend who became my husband. I was from a poor family and so they were so good to me and his family to take me as theirs being poor.........never did I think we would ever divorce but we did over the death of his mother.......I might be saying too much now because there were headlines about the murder trial anyway........I was so in love with my boyfriend that I wanted to know all about the sky and planes so we would have something we loved doing together.........that is the only reason I was so plane crazy......now, I tell you I am afraid to fly and I will be flying out soon to see my son and I am scared to go now. Flying is not what it used to be...........

Consider the context. I think she meant the first time she ever got into an airplane. I mean just this specific post. I don't know about other things that may have been written on the forums.

I said the first time I GOT INNNN the plane.....not that I flew it. But I did know a girl that started flying at 19 and she and her family had a plane that would land on the water......she was so smart and so great.

It does happen all of the time. It has happened to me several times. While I respect your opinion, I have learned to accept that once I put it out there it is out of my control. And calling other posters names because we were having a little fun...? Silly. JMO. Might I add that some threads are started just to ignite hijacking and squatting?

My first husband did beat me but in the time we dated he did not and he did not until after 1977...........and no help from the police..........but that did not keep us from making up and flying. I was afraid of him.......but I loved flying. I was so young.

I think of getting on those small planes as getting on a rickety old trolley car.
