@Shanus  hahahahaah you made me laugh out loud. I can´t stop. Yeaaaa I thought you could sew. You have many talents.

@Sage04   Well, keep laughing....I can replace buttons and easy tasks, but nothing that requires skill or a sewing machine. Heck, I'd be hemming my own pants and saving lots of money! Lol

@Shanus  I´m so surprised. Reading your posts for years and thinking you are the woman of all season lol. Yes you are and I will keep on thinking that you have a sewing machine. I bet @chickenbutt  has one. Laughter is so good. I admire you and @chickenbutt  for years and will continue.

Picked up some Sunflower material yesterday and will be making some more masks for family and friends. That should bring a little sunshine all around.

@Sage04

Can I ask where you picked up the fabric?

Joann’s is closed for walkin business, so I placed an order for store pick up about 10 days ago.  Seemed like everything I tried to order was unavailable but I finally managed to buy two pieces of cotton fabric.  Received an order confirmation, then a few days later an email that said one of the fabrics was sold out. (but they had it when I ordered). Then I heard nothing for about a week. Finally got another email saying I could do a pickup on that one piece of fabric.  So I don’t think I’ll be trying to order anything else from Joann’s.

There are plenty of face masks available to buy on etsy.com

Amazon also has face masks.

@dazzlingdiane  @ALRATIBA.  The handmade fabric masks sold on these sites are not effective due to the microscopic size of the virus which can sail right through the fibers of the fabric.  That's why there's talk of filters, which are also questionable

@Sage04   Think this is a compliment, yes? I can do a lot...make jewelry, do makeup, bake & cook well, garden, interior design (most things creative), but no sewing. Honored that you think I'm sitting here now sewing up a suit for DH, but no way.

Well I wore a mask at the supermarket today for the first time.  It was my first outing in 3 weeks and DH had an old box paper masks that he used for painting.

It was really uncomfortable!  I would have thought that the lightweight paper mask would have been more comfortable than it was.  Maybe I didn't have it on correctly but I found it a bit difficult to breathe at first and it kept fogging up my glasses....very frustrating!

Plus I went to the fish counter and the clerk behind it couldn't understand what I was asking since my voice was muffled.  I actually found myself pulling the mask away (wasn't thinking!) and speaking loudly...but that defeats the purpose!

When I went to the cashier I asked if he could hear me well and he could so it was a weird shopping experience.

@haddon9  for me wearing a mask I thought I was suffocating. It took me a few days to get used to it.
