A friend of ours went to Kroger this morning when they opened at 6am. He thought he'd beat the crowds. Ha! The parking lot was full and store was packed with shoppers. Shelves were empty. No cashiers, only self-check. So he left and went to another supermarket about a mile away. Same thing. He went back home empty-handed.

Why no checkers? Those people need jobs.

Aldi's was really well stocked yesterday. Reports from neighbors from Nextdoor has said the supply was still fine at our local grocery stores.
Costco, I waited for a place to park and then went inside. Looked at the checkout line backed up to the entrance door and then I left. The greeter at the door kept repeating "No toilet paper, no disinfectant wipes!" I just had four items that were on instant coupon. One of them was the Panko breaded jumbo shrimp ($4 off), lettuce, tomatoes, and one other item. I will survive without the shrimp!

We were in our Walmart a little while ago to pick up deer corn and I thought, well while we're here- right? No soup, barely any canned goods, anything that pretain to sanitizers gone gone gone... lots of meats gone.. I told the young lady stocking drink mixes, you ought to serve drinks back here and make money... she had margarita mix in her hand.
The manager told us they had to call the police due to people stealing from others' buggies and trying to run out to their cars- also said a man at the Hiram store passed away. This is just mob mentality on epinephrine.. People calm down.. things will get restocked, you don''t need all that tpaper. Lady greeter said people were taking the wipes for the carts and leaving.. and the empty shelves, it was like a gathering of all of us just staring and going...

Yesterday I gave up on Trader Joe's because there was a huge line up the block at 8:15 in the morning.
Today I went back and got in line at 7:50 AM. Same huge line but there wasn't anybody in store so I figured the line would move once 8:00 AM rolled around. It did.
I was looking for my Trader Joe's lavender soap (they were scheduled for a shipment) but now I also wanted a gallon of whole milk. They had the soaps, plenty of them, but only 4 gallons of whole milk, all their organic brand (expensive). Very little of the other kinds of milk. No meats at all, no prepared meals, no canned goods. Plenty of veggies, but that's the plastic bags of our food supply - ubiquitous. There will be plenty of veggies in the zombie outbreak!
My theory is, people have done most of their stocking up, although people will buy cans if they see them. What we're doing now is getting more of the fresh stuff that we all need and use on one trip so we don't have to go to the store that often.
I was out of the store and walking home by 8:15 AM.

My favorite empty shelf was the hair dye today. Where are you going to look so good if you are that afraid?
The intimate section was about gone too; the fun stuff and the precautionary. Nine months people! There are going to be a lot of Christmas babies coming.

I didn't know where to post this decided here. I am so bored I'm watching HSN. Anyway Colleen has Samantha Brown on selling luggage! Buying luggage to take on a trip is the last thing on any one's mind, like trying to sell ice to an Eskimo!
