I just got back from Walgreens.

I wanted some tortilla chips and didn't want to walk to the supermarket .... Walgreens is closer, plus I had to pass there on the way to pick up my packages at the concierge office.

My LOGO jacket arrived, and my new polarized red rhinestone fit-over sunglasses!  .Love the jacket and I'm reconsiderng my original idea of hemming the jacket.  I now think I'm going to pull the fringe up to the sewing line. Jacket is a little stiff - but my "magic" wash will soften it.

In Walgreens ... In the grocery section - most canned goods and cereal were empty.  Snack foods, soda, freezer and fridge section were well stocked.

Paper goods and soap shelves were almost empty in the main part of the store.  BUT - there were pallets of paper goods and soap ready to be unloaded at the end of each aisle.

I saw just a couple of people wearing face masks.

There's a grocery store on my way to work that I occasionally stop in quickly on my way to work for one or two things.  Yesterday it was crowded at 6:30am!  I usually see only one or two people in there at that time.

Most stores here have no frozen vegetables, water, or toilet paper.

A store employee said they get daily shipments, but can't keep things stocked.

@jpie Our Costco here in Delaware posted a sign saying they are hiring temporary help for this crisis.  That will help some of the people that are temporary out of work from their jobs, a good thing.

One of my local Super Walmart's will close tonight at 10:00PM til 6:00AM so they can restock the store.  An employee posted it on their Facebook.  The store has been so crazy busy they just cannot restock properly.

That is good news.  What a way to get introduced to a new job!  The workers always seem so level-headed  at Costco in general.  I did have one really rude cashier, but I didn't see him for long!

Someone on next door posted that a Price Chopper had tp today, I saw the message too late but that's a good sign that they stocked it this morning.

Re: Empty Shelves :(

[ Edited ]

I happened to wake up very early this morning and decided to go to the grocery store.  It was 3:30 am and there was already a crowd!  There's only one cashier that works overnight so the line wrapped around the store.

My main reason for going was for peppermint tea and some fresh produce.  I was surprised to see that bananas  were all gone but there were plenty of apples and pears.  Those items have a longer shelf life (weeks vs a few days for bananas) so I was surprised more people didn't buy them.
