No,I have never been embarrassed. If they should want to laugh that's ok because I'll know I got something I liked or needed.  For me, that's a good deal anyway you look at it!!!!!

Never!  And I've been shopping with HSN and QVC from the beginning.  But there indeed was a time when people didn't understand what shopping channels were about.  The was a lot of cheap stuff and people just assumed it was all junk.  If you mentioned that the top the top they were complimenting came from QVC, those roll their eyes but I was never embarrassed.  As long as I was buying what I wanted and needed, that's all I cared about.  Actually, there are still women who turn their noses up at shopping channels.  I have a cousin, she's 60ish and she swears she has never watched any shopping channel.  She also never shops online and still has the same hairstyle she had in high school.  She just doesn't do "new" she doesn't change or do anything different.  I'm pretty sure the majority of American women don't shop with QVC or any shopping channel.

Home Shopping has always had a cheap, low quality public image.

No, I wouldn't be embarrassed, but then I tell people I shop at Walmart, as well as, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.  It's surprising what one can find in Walmart.

I never have felt embarrassed.  I rarely order anything now but even in the beginning with CVN I never felt embarrassed or have anyone make a comment.

Re: Embarrassed ?

[ Edited ]

Way back in the beginning I was a bit embarassed but in recent years no, I have not been.  All of my friends and family know that I shop here a lot and when they do ask about something and  I say QVC they are not surprised anymore.

I have had strangers ask where I have gotten something.  If I mention the Q they are sometimes surprised and say they will check it out.

I have never had anyone aske me what is QVC....however I have had people ask me what is Etsy since I used to have an Etsy shop for more than ten years.

I've never received a negative reaction when I tell someone I ordered from QVC.  I get compliments on clothing, jewelry, etc that I've ordered here.

I think the embarrassing thing with shopping from TV is that people sometimes think you park yourself in front of the TV all day shopping.  I don't know why they assume that, but sometimes they do.

Since I seldom watch these days, I can truthfully say I bought an item online.  All of my Q purchases are done online; I haven't called in years.

I made that mistake once and was nearly laughed and teased out of the room. I don't tell people if something comes from Q either.

I can't imagine friends, family or co-workers laughing at me because of where I purchased something from.

I encountered that kind of snobbery years ago. One of the major reasons I can't give any gifts from QVC to anyone in my life except my husband and son. Sad to me how home shopping still suffers a stigma from people who know little about it. Johnny Carson had comedy skits about Home Shopping back in the day.🥺

Years ago a friend mentioned how much they loved my sweater. I shared it was cashmere from QVC. The sweater was beautiful but the look on her face when I shared was memorable. She laughed and said "OMG, you have to be kidding." 🙄
