It's strange pricing here. Generic brand eggs run $6.99 to $9.00 a dozen while my favorite name brand eggs run $3.99 for 12 or $5.49 for 18 eggs.

I don't eat eggs. All of my life I have had an aversion to eggs. I can't stand the texture, smell or taste.

It's WAFFLE HOUSE that is adding Surcharge of 50cents, per egg to meals. Sticker is on menu so customers not surprised.
Gosh, Is Waffle House still around, & 24/7? I used to meet friends there for coffee, maybe breakfast, esp after a night of dancing.
Hmm, now I'm in the mood for a good "Rancher breakfast."

@Hopein24 Not real eggs. Even when prices were much lower and my GDs were young, I'd purchase plastic eggs at Michael's. You can also put a coating on them so they accept painting on them w/ an acrylic paint in rainbow colors. We tried real eggs and they kept dropping them before I could get them in the water. Not at these prices!!!
Checked whole chickens lately?!?!?

We used to make designs on the eggs with wax crayons before dunking them in the colored water dye. Was a great exercise in colors for kids. Almost like "magic" when we were young.
Also, we would get those larger candy, (sorta marshmallow inside), hard shell candy eggs, & the Easter Bunny would initially hide them (indoors) from us. They didnt taste all that great, so we kids kept hiding them over and over again from one another, with our little grubby fingers. We showed no mercy from siblings, with hiding places. heh

Waffle House: 50 cents extra per egg ordered announced in Monday's news.

I thought that America cut down on egg eating due to the cholesterol warnings.
You can always buy the plastic eggs for the children at Easter time.

Chickens have gotten the bird flu many times before. The price of eggs will decrease and hopefully soon.
Guess these birds should have gotten their vaccines. ![]()
