On second thought...I wouldn't mind a couple of THESE:

This may contain: two chocolate eggs with ice cream inside on a white surface

Ditto - I bought 2 cartons, because DH loves eggs, and I use them a lot for baking and cooking.

Oh, and I'm in Virginia too.

Re: Easter eggs

[ Edited ]

Always colored eggs growing up and then with son and eventually grandson.

We used to hollow out real eggs too to make scenes inside and decorate outside.. Those were more fun really but required patience.

I haven't colored eggs in years now. Plus the price wouldn't justify doing so.

I rarely eat them but feel I must have them on hand.  I often end up hard boiling them and giving to the dogs.  They love them.

I just don't understand the obsession with the price of eggs.  First of all, eggs is not the thing in the grocery store that is far more expensive to buy now.

And you should be glad you can get any egg or any chicken now because this bird flu could make things a lot lot lot worse in the near future for a lot of reasons.  It isn't a trivial matter.

Be thankful we have eggs and chickens and pray that this flu doesn't ramp up to a very real catastrophe.

I don't eat eggs at all - have never eaten a fried or poached egg - used to be able to eat scrambled eggs but was very particular about how they looked or smelled.  Cannot eat them at all anymore.

Used to be able to eat a boiled egg in a salad or something or a deviled egg at a picnic or church dinner - but now cannot eat an egg in any form - if I can see them.

Of course I use them to bake with - that doesn't seem to bother me.

My husband will occasionally eat a fried or scrambled egg but not often.

A dozen eggs would last use a few weeks, I suppose.

A dozen here for $3.99 and $5.89 for an 18 ct.  A carton to experience the fun of coloring eggs is so worth it.  Maybe just hide more plastic and make finding the "real" eggs to be part of a special prize/treat.

I paid $4.97 for large white eggs at Giant Eagle last week.

Is anything being done to eradicate this bird flu that's supposedly responsible for this?  Other than killing the birds?

I thought initially it was about staying away from raw milk. Seems more prevalent then just that problem now.

I hate the thought of all these many birds being continually eradicated.  Not kewl.

Eggs are same price they have been for awhile. I like eggs and I use a lot when baking.

@Desertdi - what candy is that? Chocolate covered chocolate chip cookie dough? Yes please.
