Went to the IGA yesterday and eggs were 7.99 a dozen for large, white eggs. They had a carton of two dozen of the same kind for 14.99 !!! I did not buy them, but went to Kroger today and got 18 white large eggs for 3.99 on a digital coupon. Just curious, is anyone planning on coloring Easter eggs this year? We usually don't anymore and am glad with these prices!

We will dye eggs with our younger grandchildren.

With the shortage of eggs this year because of the bird flu which has also increased the prices, if I were an egg coloring person, which I'm not, I'd have to take a pass this year.

Unless you plan to eat them afterwards.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

If I want eggs, I'll buy them.  A small bag of candy is well over $5.  Eggs, while priced higher compared to a few years ago, are still a good bargain for what you get nutrition wise.

I am in Virginia now.  Eggs at the Food Lion were $4.99 a dozen for large with a sign that said " sorry for the high price, there is a shortage."

In PA where I live, $4.99 would be a bargain price.

WOW!   @Hopein24

18 for $3.99 is a remarkable price!  I havent heard any one get 18 eggs for this price.

I heard that there's a chain restaurant, cant remember the name,  that is now charging 50cents extra for EACH egg, a person orders!  NEVER heard of that even since I was a child.

When I was a child, we colored eggs, but the dye would some how leak into the egg white, with coloring, & grossed me out, so I didnt eat them.

I live in SW Missouri, and Walmart has them for $4.17 a dozen.  Highest I've ever seen.

In the Mid-Hudson Valley, NY -right now the prices hover $7.99 for jumbo eggs.

I may re-think coloring Easter eggs, but husband does like to eat them.
