Re: Duracell batteries leaking

I have a ton of flameless candles so I use a lot of batteries. I rarely have had any leak, but when they have I have always cleaned the contacts with an emory board. Just a suggestion that works for me.Woman Happy

QVCfreak.. Duracell is not the same product as it was decades ago..Nothing seems to be anymore.. I use lots of flameless candles & believe me over the last couple of years many, many of these batteries have leaked.. I've complained to the company once before & next week they're going to hear from me big time.. I'm going to try & return whatever I have unopened to the store.. Maybe Duracell will do something when they see their sales going down..

How sad, here's the package I just purchased.

QVCFreak: RETURN THEM.. Earlier today I decided to go and look at some of the decor I have that need batteries; well don't u know the beautiful tall Home Reflection angel I have, when I opened it, leaked batteries.. I wanted to scream.. I decided to count how many pieces the batteries have leaked over the last year and a half, 9 in total...

I can't wait until Tuesday to call P&G & let them have it big time.. I'm going to look into where I can file a complaint about this. After cleaning some of the items, I couldn't get them to work again.. Also, it's time consuming bc u have to be careful not to get any of the acid on your hands, even if u use a Q-Tip.. Made in China junk..

Re: Duracell batteries leaking

@Zita@classic, just this evening I replaced the Duracell batteries in my Bethlehem Lights strings of seed lights.  I put two strings in a large antique cut crystal rose bowl on my dining room table, and it looks darling.  When I opened the battery compartment, there was a white liquid all over the interior.  The batteries leaked, and the lights went out only two days ago, so I didn't leave old batteries in for an extended period of time.  I carefully cleaned the compartment and put in fresh batteries.  Fortunately, the liquid didn't damage them.  I've had battery leakage before, and always with Duracell.  You will only know the batteries leak when you're ready to change them and see the mess.

Re: Duracell batteries leaking

I am giving up on Duracell because of leaking. I have never had a Ray O Vac battery leak, nor an Eveready. Even the Sony batteries are better than the cureent Duracell.
