I prefer Hellmann's, the only one I can eat. It's just personal preference. I have friends that love Duke's.

I was at Giant a week or so ago and there was Duke's on Special as they are now carrying it and was showcasing it and other "Southern" products. I'd read about it but had never tried it and was going to buy Hellmans as I'm now out so....I bought Duke's.
What I and my family found out:
*It's much creamier than Hellmans; almost TOO creamy.
*It's sweeter/lemony in taste than Hellmans
*I need to use almost half of the amount than I normally would with Hellmans. The first time I made egg salad, it was egg soup. I had to boil another 5 eggs (had 8 already in the salad) and add them in to make it egg salad as I know it. SInce then, I've used half the amount when making any type of salad.
*It's more expensive than Hellmans (same size jar).
Not impressed, to be honest. When we use it up, I'll go back to Hellmans and that will be that.
@SahmIamSo you're saying it's creamy and economical.
Sort of sounded to me like she was saying she wasn't impressed and plans to go back to Hellman's... and that she might use more Hellman's but it costs less... and that she found Duke's too creamy, sweet and lemony... Honestly, I think it's all right that we don't all prefer the same mayo...

My whole entire life I have never had any brand other than Hellmann's.

I'm with @hckynut, mayo is not part of my vocabulary. If it is required for a rare occasion, I use Veganaise (no eggs in it).

I love it. A friend who is a great cook recommended it. I figured mayonaise all tastes the same. However Dukes is so much better. Mayonaise always seemed greasy to me. Dukes is light and fluffy and non greasy. My husband never liked mayonaisse until I bought dukes.

I buy Hellmann"s, Duke and Blue Plate--whichever happens to be on sale when I need it.
I don't see a whole lot of difference among them when mixing in something else, such as chicken salad, tuna salad, deviled eggs, etc.
One does taste more of lemon than vinegar, but can't recall which one.
I have noticed that all three include eggs, but Blue Plate empasizes (in bold type on ingredient list) that it uses EGG YOLKS.
Perhaps that means Blue Plate mayo is OK for folks allergic to egg whites?? My sister has this allergy.
