Re: Downs Twin Left With Surrogate

Probably getting off subject a bit but just wanted to say that having a Downs child can be a great blessing. We were blessed with one of these little treasures in our family until God took her her to be with Himself when she was less than one year old. The lessons this little one taught us about "real love" are priceless. These children are child like in spirit all their lives; loving and selfless. Could say much more but there just isn't time.

Your post gets to the heart of the matter...a child is a gift from God...ALL children!

They aren't like puppies that can be bought and sold and ordered up "perfect." The whole idea of producing a child "made to order" according to a contract is despicable to me. Adopting, fostering, using in vitro and surrogates...must all realize that the creation of a new life has no relationship to ordering up a pet from a breeder.

Any loving parent should realize that there are no guarantees...we just have to learn to open our hearts to love and life.

Thank you for reminding us of the gift of life.

I'm no medical expert, but at 7 months along, wouldn't both have died in a termination procedure?

I suppose it would depend on the surgeon.

There's a reason late term is ILLEGAL in both America and Thailand.
