@Reba055:

Sorry that you are not feeling up to things right now---pace yourself or you will find the energy disappears.  When that happens to me, I get depressed and it takes that much more to get going.

That menu planning sure sounds like it is complicated.  Is there anyway to simplify---get some folks to bring things ready to heat and eat?  It gives everybody something to talk about, ask how did you make that, etc.  I would also ask key folks to help on specific things: bring out or take back items to the kitchen, stack dishes, load dishwasher, etc.  Nobody says that you have to do it all yourself.  Believe me, most folks would love to help if you ask them for it.

The holiday is for everybody, including you.  No one wants to see you exhausted and not enjoying the activities.  Please let some folks help out---maybe you can enlist a good friend to help you wrap / bag gifts.  ( Teenagers love to be Santa's helper )

@jlkz  Yes, I've already decided we'll do something less traditional this year as far as the food goes. Funny, almost everyone I've talked to feels the same way.

I have grown kids (and hubby) that will help. This morning I woke up feeling really sick. Now I think I'm coming down with something. Geez.  So I'm really not gonna worry about anything. Que sera sera!

i guess maybe that explains why I've been so achey all over. I know I shouldn't, but I have an antibiotic that I'm going to take and hopefully it will help.

Enjoy your holidays!

That's so funny - I remember years ago when my kids were little, I hid their gifts in my trunk - had no key to the trunk, had to use the trunk latch, but when I used the latch to open the trunk Christmas eve, the cable broke!  I couldn't get into the trunk to get the gifts!  Had to call out a locksmith!  Sounds like you have everything under control - have a great time Sunday!

A woman who works with me hides her kids' presents at work - in our boss's large office (she's a great boss, BTW!)

Last year right before we were to fly to FL, I started to feel not quite right.  Took orange flavored Airborne in water ( it tastes like orange juice ) for a few days so I would not be sick for the flight.  It worked:  it's the heavy concentration of Vitamin C.  Continued for a few days once we got there just in case there were cold bugs floating around inside the plane.

I just bought some today:  we fly to FL in early January.
