Our family Christmas is Sunday and I'm almost ready. We are having appetizers and pizza. I've got all the ingred ients for the appetizers ready on my counter. In that way I don't have to be hunting for them at the last minute. The gifts are all wrapped. There all in our car in the garage. And yes we even have to hide them from the adult children. In fact my DIL was over looking for them and asked where are the gifts and I said there hidden. Our house is small and the car was the only place we could think off. So all they need are the bows. I'm excited this year as I had some health issues and the are slowly going away.

That's so funny - I remember years ago when my kids were little, I hid their gifts in my trunk - had no key to the trunk, had to use the trunk latch, but when I used the latch to open the trunk Christmas eve, the cable broke!  I couldn't get into the trunk to get the gifts!  Had to call out a locksmith!  Sounds like you have everything under control - have a great time Sunday!

LOL!  Apparently the tradition of using the car trunk to hide gifts continues on.  My mom used to do that - back in the 60's!

So glad that your health issues are improving. I have been dealing with something similar, and it really makes me appreciate all I have, the season, and the ability to enjoy and participate in it. I try so hard not to take any of it for granted anymore.

Have fun with your celebration, and keep those gifts hidden!!

@hovis. That's wonderful to hear. Although I am not familiar yet with that many posters, I am glad you will be enjoying the holidays.  I suspect you give great presents! Woman Happy

I am getting excited about your family Christmas on Sunday and I am not even going.

Being able to prepare food and 'entertain' Family and Friends after being ill makes the Holiday even more special.

Be Well !!

Good for you!!  I'm not doing so great, lol. I have presents all over my office and every time I walk in there, I just wanna cry!  I can't get psyched to tackle the wrapping. I've had a tough week. I have managed to decorate some and keep up with things around the house. Haven't even thought about what I'm cooking yet. Thank goodness it's not till Christmas Day.

I know I'll get there, but I'm about to panic! I haven't felt this bad at Christmas time in awhile.

But on the bright side, I have much to be thankful for. My loved ones will all be here. And need to remember the true meaning of Christmas. Let it go...let it go.  Lol

hovis, it sounds as if you have everything under control.  I am glad your health problems are resolving amd that you're enjoying the holidays.

I have been away and was very behind with gift wrapping and such when I returned.  In a burst of energy I wrapped gifts to mail to my large and widely dispersed family and local friends over the last two days.   Very jet-lagged, as always, so I made some goofy mistakes, but I think I caught all of them and corrected them.

That's done as of this afternoon, and my holiday cards, about half done--some inserted into the gifts and others mailed today to international friends who should still receive by Christmas.

The big job is the litter and mess the wrapping causes in the house!  I will do that tomorrow after I finish my Christmas cards.  THEN I hope to finally get the tree up.

@Reba055

Make the wrapping a lot easier on yourself.  Go to a dollar store and get some beautiful bags in different sizes.  Get some red and green or white and blue or holiday pattern-printed tissue papers.

Add some gift tags that you can stick on the bag.  Voila, much easier and quicker than old-fashioned wrapping.

Elect to do only a few gifts then get a beverage.  Hope this helps you tackle the mountain of gifts--- the Swiss Cheese technique!

@jlkz  thanks, we've been doing that for years. I do wrap a few things that are in nice size boxes just to mix in and look good around the tree. I went a little crazy this year so the biggest problem is sorting through it all and getting it done. 3/4 of my office floor is stacked with gifts. I think it's because I don't feel well. I can't seem to get excited about it, and keep procrastinating. I hate to do it when it seems like a chore. I've always enjoyed doing it. I know I should do a little at a time, but when I start, I want to finish. (Some fools never learn)

My time is running out though. I'll have to do it tomorrow so I can get about the business of menu planning, etc.

I need an attitude adjustment. I've been getting progressively worse this week, today I can barely get around or even turn my head. I'm starting to get angry about the whole thing. I know that's not productive so I'll just have to get over it.

Thank you for your suggestions. Forgive my whining. I hope to wake up tomorrow with a new attitude. Hey, maybe I'll play Patty LaBelle's song 😄
