Dogs in the grocery store - Page 17

Where do people live that they see "emotional support" dogs everywhere?

I don't see that. And I live in a very dog friendly city.

I have never seen a dog in any store except Pet Smart.

So because a handful of people have broken the rules, you consider that ok. Now if the rules are changed, you do not think more people will take advantage of it. I small dog in a bag (without permission) is a far cry from a few people bringing in larger dogs. I can just imgine the out cry if someone had the nerve to bring a pit bull terrier into a grocery store, no matter how well behaved.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

LOL, you should talk about "taking a trick out of others posters book of making stuff up". You mentioned animals being given "free reign" in grocery stores.

I came upon a beautiful pit bull terrier at a local store where I shop frequently. I went over to meet her and asked her handler if I could pet her. What a lovely dog she was.

People cry over lots of ridiculous things.

Free reign means unrestricted access, not roving wild bands of dogs.

Good to know you have no problems with pit bulls being allowed in public. Not sure everyone else on these boards would agree based on previous discussions.

I don't consider a dog on a leash as having unrestricted access.

This is a whole nother issue! LOL I cannot understand why people think they need to bring their dogs absolutely everywhere with them and they end up in vehicles.

A few weeks ago, I was at a car show that lasted about 3 hours. Someone had their dog in their car and it was blazing hot outside. He kept the car running with the a/c on and about every 30 minutes he went back to the car to check on the dog. I saw him put a bowl of water in the car and twice he brought the dog out and took it for a small walk. But as I looked at that I couldn't imagine why he thought he should have that dog in the car. Wouldn't that dog have been more comfortable at home?

moonchilde you are so wrong! they do come straight from work, and no' there might not be blood on them, but there are other professions that wear scrubs, and besides, even a receptionist is exposed to germs seeing that not just healthy people visit a doctor's office. I do not believe they change into clean scrubs, and if they change into street clothes how I would I know they are in the medical profession? I'm not ragging on these people, just making an observation.
