Re: Does anyone shave her face?

I just love how my face feels so smooth and soft after I shave off the peach fuzz. Make up looks better, too, and I think it makes you look younger.

I started shaving my chin many years ago.  Wish I wouldn’t have.  It does make a stubble and I have to do it everyday.

my mom always said if i ever shaved my face, the hair would grow in darker and heavier.

I know this was an old wives tale and does not happen .

Re: Does anyone shave her face?

I just tried this face shaving thing for the first time recently and really like it! I watched a Youtube video by Jaclyn Hill called "How I Shave My Face" and she tells you all you need to know. Even the super cheap female face razors...But to answer your question I believe from ear to chin or downward is the correct way to go. (in small strokes not one long stroke like on a leg)  I have/had major blonde peach fuzz and shaving it has made my face feel so much more smooth that I can't stop feeling it all the time! lol and it does NOT grow back darker or more stronger!

Do a small patch test first!!

Once years ago I used a blade to shave between my lips and nose.  My soft, blonde peach-fuzz came back in thick and black.  Now I have to pluck and shave above my lip every day!  (I'm 70)   I use a tiny battery-operated shaver to do it.

It's not always an old wives' tale -- sometimes your facial hair will change if you shave.

Re: Does anyone shave her face?

Nope I never did it. I had no hair on my face until way after a very earlier than most menopause. Im glad it works for others, but i had an Aunt who had dark hair and she shaved and when she got old her face often had a full mustache and beard. It upset me.

I am a pale redhead so my body hair is very light. I use a tweezer to get the chin hairs. I have no peach fuzz. And PS what I do find lately is, I'm getting nose hairs!!!!, Yes like a man and use the thing men use and its very embarrassing so I keep after it constantly!

So for those of you that shave your face...do you shave from the chin up (against the grain so to speak) or top to bottom?  I would think you would shave from the chin up but not sure....

I never thought about it.  I have some hairs on my chin and sideburns.  I shave from the top down.  Women's facial hair isn't like men's, it's finer so I don't think that "against the grain" thing is relevent.
