If all the publicity of this man and his life makes just one person take a second look at their child, a neighbor, schoolmate, etc. and recognize some of the traits and/or behaviors that would led them to become radicalized then the publicity is worth it. He perfectly illustrates that the "boogyman" doesn't necessarily look scary anymore than the scary looking are the "boogyman".

I think there are many things the media should not do in the pursuit of journalism, but they are more interested in what sells to the public. The public needs a face to focus hate and this guy fits the bill. It doesn't mean he is any closer to being caught.

I think they should stop calling him Jihadji John and call home by his real name. Jihadi John sounds too cutsie and cartoonish and he is anything but
