Our class prides itself in still getting together every year . I did go to a few get togethers and reunions, but stopped because trying to start and maintain conversations was like pulling teeth. No one seemed interested in what I had been doing for 40 years and they were not interested in sharing anything about themselves. I wasn't one of the popular kids in highschool and had few friends, but adults should try to make everyone feel welcome.

My best friend and I were 12yrs when we met. Lived on the same road. WE would dress the same one day a week. White blouse and blue skirts. We would wear ponytails---hers long mine short. She has beautiful hair. Been friends for about 55yrs. We did have some issues and did not see one another for some years. We both missed each other. I do not see her often. She moved to another state years ago. She is sick now and I wish I could be with her. We talk on the phone but It isn't the same. So many memories. I feel blessed to have her in my life. As for reunions we went to our 50th. My husband wanted to go. I had the best time!

Yes, I keep in touch with my 3 best friends from high school.
However we havent gotten together in a while and should. 1 lives in California so I only see her every so many years when she is in PA to visit family, but we chat on the phone on ocassion (shes not a techie girl).. 2 live an hour away from me and we used to go out all the time until 2 years ago. But we still keep in touch on social media and like I said we need to get together soon!
I also keep in touch with a few of my neighbors from when I lived in the city and I know one since I was a kid!. (Ones older than me. and ones younger). The older one (that I know since I was a kid), well we visit each other every few months, the younger one - we keep in touch via Facebook.

Even though my class had about 600, it remained close and had several reunions over the years. The class stays in touch thru its own Facebook page.
My best friend in junior and senior high have remained friends all these years. We don't see each other much any more, but do call and email one another.

I swore to myself right then and there, back in 1972, at my graduation, that I will never go to any reunions nor will I keep in contact with anyone from high school! I kept that promise.

Two of my best friends who are sisters moved to another city but same state after high school. We tried to get together a few times a year. One passed away several years ago. I still keep in touch with the other sister. Talked to her on the phone just last week. I see another high school acquaintance from time to time because we live in the same neighborhood, but we aren't close friends.
