Sounds like my house. My youngest kitty LOVES water. He plays in it constantly, and I have to physically move him out of the way any time I turn on a spigot. I have videos of him playing in the dishpan I use as a water bowl for my large fur-kid crew here. My 2 older cats won't even go near him when he's wet they hate water so much!

My two are the same way. One likes to sit on the shower seat while I'm showering. They like water on their own terms only. The shower scene from Psycho comes to mind when I imagine trying to bathe one of the duo.

According to two cat breeders we know, you have to start early when they're kittens, so they get used to it.

One of my girls also likes to play in a slow running stream of water. If I'm not careful to put toilet lids down, she will stand on the rim and fling water everywhere.

But...give them a bath? Only if I like the sight of my own blood!

They are long hairs and I brush them often. Once in awhile I will take a damp washcloth and rub them with it. They like it. They have absolutely no smell to their fur so I guess they are self-cleaning.

Just when I think people can't get any crazier! Unless the animal has got into some real mess that needs removing (oil, mud or such), and ours don't because they're indoor cats, they don't need bathing. They do it themselves and they do an excellent job. No one could smell better than them! Now I could see maybe a fat cat that can't reach every place or a very old cat that forgets to do it but ordinarily NO!!

I would be missing most of my facial features on the first try. Just simple claw trimming is a death wish!

My stepmom bathed her cat without any problems. I don't think it's necessary unless under a vet's orders.

Not deliberately. But my previous cat liked to walk along the edge of the tub when i was taking a bath, and fell in. He more careful about tub-walking after that, it was a one time event. There was no screaming from the cat, but you don't want to be unclothed when a flailing wet cat is in the same tub trying to get out.
