Re: Do You Get Dressed Everyday

Every so often I do end up in PJs all day but rarely

I have cats, so there's no staying in bed, no matter how I feel.

If the cats don't get me, the call of nature will.

When I get dressed, if you can call it that,  it's pull on pants or shorts & a t-shirt.   Nothing I would wear outside unless it's to work in the yard.

At one time years ago, when I was still working, a school teacher in my Sunday school class never got out of her PJs all summer on her school break.   Not once.   I don't know how she managed  but I would have never guessed.   She cared about her appearance & had plenty of energy & personality.

For the elderly, it's probably good for mental health to have that transition from bedclothes to house clothes.

Re: Do You Get Dressed Everyday

On days I don't go to work, I will eventually take a shower and put on a clean at home 'uniform.'  The uniform is a tshirt, soft jogger pants, and a sweatshirt, if I get cold. I really value being comfortable which means no bra, which I always wear outside my home and to work. I will not wear the at home uniform to run errands.

I see people wear pajamas to run errands, but I am not comfortable with that, but that is their business.  I saw a whole family in the airport late at night to pick up their 'dad.' They we're all in their tasteful pajamas which I thought was really cute!

I do.  I might lounge a little longer on day off but always get dressed and moving.

I am more of the type to get into pjs earlier at night and up and rolling earlier.

Do you get dressed everyday even if you have no plans to go out, or do you stay in your pajamas or robe? When my mother was alive, I made her get dressed everyday, I felt it's a new day, if you don't get dressed it's like your giving up on life. I will admit there are days I force myself to get out of bed, get dressed, when I don't feel like it, but I do.

My mom said even if you're sick get out of those PJ's and put on some regular clothes....it helps your state of mind and you feel better about your day!

Guess I may be in the minority here but I admit I have pajama days and I'm fine emotionally! ( LOL )     Most days I am up and dressed, sometimes if I am not going anywhere I will just put on comfy sweats and a tshirt  (somewhat presentable) especially when the weather is cold and rainy/snowy.    I like to be cozy and did before all of this new way of living.   It's how I am dressed today, it's football sunday, woohoo!!

Re: Do You Get Dressed Everyday

@Jordan2   I'm retired and am alone 11 hrs. a day while DD works.  Well, unless you count the cats.

I get dressed if I go out and I couldn't care less if I go out.  I have several nightshirts and robes. They are comfy and no one sees me. If I know someone is coming, like the guy to winterize the furnance, I get dressed otherwise nope.

If DD, no matter how well intended, tried to make me get dressed.....well, we would have a serious "chat".  I'm not senile and can do what I want. She is an adult and I don't tell her what to do either.

She made the mistake once, after her Dad died, and said I needed to get out of the house more. Let's just say she only did it once. I politely, but firmly, told her what I thought.

loved, loved, loved your comment about cats.....so true, so true, cats get you up even when its 4 O'clock in the morning...😸😸😸....you can never sleep in when you have cats even if their food bowl and water dish is full, and treats and toys are readily available they want their pet parent up!

Yes I do, and I very rarely go anywhere. Doctors Offices/Hospital, and now the ice rink once a week. Ice rink different types of clothes of course.

Only robes I have ever worn were in the hospital, when they had them. Most of the time those robes were a reverse worn hospital gown. PJ's?  Been years, or decades. Don't even own any.
