The addiction to cell phones is disturbing.  People cross the street here without looking up.  Drivers texting while driving. It is a very scary world.

I had a kid at the grocery store almost walk into me because he couldn't look up. I saw him coming and just stood there until he was maybe 1 step from walking into my cart.

I will yell "heads up" at people and many times it has no effect.  People just keep staring at their hands.  So oblivious. What a world!!

Not the only one...it has been going on for awhile only gotten worse.  We were rear ended by a girl on her cell phone.  Our car was unexpectedly lifted off the ground at a stop light...she didn't stop..  Not a pleasant experience.

Why does everyone find everything so "scary in the world these days."    Have they forgotten so easily that before "texting" distracted drivers were lighting a cigarette, drinking/drunk, changing the radio station, etc.

@Bhvbum   It's pretty easy to answer your question, but we are not allowed to discuss such subjects on the board.

Back in the good old days, they could be applying makeup, combing hair, lighting a smoke, or talking to someone in back seat.

Hard to figure how phones are the culprit.

The shift from phone/cell phone to landline/phone says a lot.

Yes, happens. There can be any number of reasons that someone is distracted. Kids in the car, for example.

I give it more time than 54321.

Think about it  5 4 3 2 1  thats more than enough time especially at left arrow signals

I was literally almost killed by a texting driver so I have a special kind of anger for people who allow themselves to be distracted while driving.

@bikerbabe, I was thinking the sme thing. Why assume the person is texting? Not everyone does this.

I've learned to wait a few seconds before turning even though I have a green arrow because there is someone coming from the opposite direction who think they can still make it even thought their light just turn red.

Do Not try this at any red light in southern WV or you will get an unpleasant surprise ticket in the mail.  Cameras are everywhere in this area and when an image is captured, a ticket is issued!
