I guess the new trend at waiting for traffic lights is texting. I am tired of people who arent paying attention when its green, especially in left turn lanes. I give a countdown 54321 rule then I blow the horn. I'm I the only one annoyed by this?

The addiction to cell phones is disturbing. People cross the street here without looking up. Drivers texting while driving. It is a very scary world.

Plus the one's at the end of the line to finally go through that green light are still coming even long after it turns red again. Last week my light turned green and I had THREE cars still continue to turn in front of me. On the third car I deliberately moved well into the intersection to hopefully make them think twice at the next RED light. I am sick of it all.

I never honk if I can avoid it...too much road rage and too many drivers packin'.

A couple of years ago Arizona enacted the no phones while driving law. It hasn't stopped people from yacking while driving. Unless the cops are paying attention and pull them over, nothing stops these people. I too get sick of people on phones while driving or stopped at a light.

I guess they feel like they're being safe since they're not technically texting and driving since they're sitting at a stop light. It doesn't happen a LOT to me, cut I do find it annoying.

I had a kid at the grocery store almost walk into me because he couldn't look up. I saw him coming and just stood there until he was maybe 1 step from walking into my cart.

@Trailrun23 "I never honk if I help it...too much road rage and too many packin'."
You are right about road rage. One time I saw two SUV's constantly changing lanes and cutting in front of each other because one of them honked at the other. It is getting dangerous to even look at a person the wrong way.

@aj1980 No, you are not the only one. I can't believe how bad this problem is becoming. I find it disturbing and unbelievable. What is so important that everyone seems to need to be in touch all the time?!

It's not new.
And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather them do it while stopped, than driving down a highway (or any road for that matter) and looking more at their phone than traffic.
It seems texters love trafffic jams because they have more *time* to text.
And, yes, if they're already deep in texting conversation they will lollygag to a stale green light hoping it turns red.
I can always tell when someone is texting because on a highway, they're usually going slower than the speed limit.
When they're not texting they're up your ask because you're not going fast enough.
Sorry, not sorry, if I offended anyone who texts and drives. I'd love to make a sign and hold it up for them that says:
STOP TEXTING @$$$#0//< YOU'RE DRIVING!
