Re: Dinnerware Is So Expensive!

I have six colors of Fiestaware and I recently added their new Lapis. A beautiful blue, it goes perfectly with Polish stoneware.

The older yellow and soft green go well, too, but the Lapis is a real knock-out.

For everyday dishes I only use corelle. They are the best of all worlds and relatively inexpensive to boot.

I have a big set of Dansk but bought Joy Mangano's Corelle set just for a little variety. They worked out very well, are lightweight and seem very sturdy as I haven't broken or chipped a single one.

Is Corelle light weight? For everyday dinners I used Fiestaware or Polish stoneware.

Can someone tell me if lifting four plates of Corelle would be a lot lighter weight than lifting four Fiestaware plates?

I bet Corelle doesn't weigh a quarter of what Fiesta weighs. I think Fiesta is very heavy. Corelle is featherweight.

Thanks to all who weighed in on this I'm going to start looking around to see who carries Corelle locally.

Doesn't corelle scratch?

No, I've been using it for decades and haven't had a piece scratch yet.

Corelle is lightweight. My set is square shaped and very thin/compact. I love them.

I've seen the square ones and I want a set...bad, lol. They're on my "gotta have" list. (as soon as I can come up with an excuse to buy dishes that I don't need, :-)

That's good price on service for 12.
