I would pick Christ ,and St Peter, St Joesph, because he is a man of mystery The Blessed Mother ,of course
The people I would most like to meet from modern times ,are Churchill ,and Ike, because they saved democracy.

I would like to meet Jesus for various reasons. We know he existed, the Jewish-Roman hisotrian Josephus wrote about him as a man.
I would also like to meet Mary Magdalene. I watched a documentary on her, PBS, the other night that was fascinating. There were so many stories made up about her by men through the centuries that portrayed her differently each time. I'd like to know the truth.
I like to get to know a Neanderthal, also. Most of us here have one as an ancestor.
Ben Franklin
Boudica
George Washington
Abe Lincoln

FDR and Eleanor - JFK & Jackie - Eisenhower - Churchill - and Harry Truman. I'd also like to include the Clintons , Bernie Sanders and the Obamas, the senior Bushes and the Carters.
To go back a long time I would rather have my own ancestors great grandparents and great great grandparents etc. to hear about their lives and the how & why of coming to America.

Elizabeth I
Marie Antoinette
Maria Theresia - her mother
Seretse Khama, first President of Botswana. Not just because there is a new movie out about him, but because I am a fan of The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency novels set in Botswana, and he is mentioned quite a bit.
Abraham Lincoln
Nelson Mandela
Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe

I would invite the founding fathers, so I could ask them how they think that we are doing with this Democracy that they gave their lives, fortunes and sacred honor for.

Any serial killer and so many others.
Plus, their parents.
I would like to "see" them and listen to the who, what, when, where, why, and how they became so evil. What tripped their wire? Why the need to destroy? What drove them and what "pleasure" did they feel ... or did they even feel?
Doing good I can understand. Pure evil I can't. Hope I never do, but it does interest me.
@Preds, you stole my thunder. :-) I was going to list just one figure -- Adolph Hitler. I think even to get a glimmer of understanding a person like him would be of so much value to me -- and to the world.
In addition to the questions you listed, I would like to figure out the spark, the charisma that made so many "normal" people in his world follow such a dark figure. How does it happen? One small step at a time?

Definitely...Jesus Christ would be number 1.
Also, I would love to have a historical "First Ladies" tea. I would love to meet Martha Washington, Dolley Madison, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy and Nancy Reagan. Living first ladies would include Rosalyn Carter and Michelle Obama, plus any others who would want to come.![]()

I was going to list Hitler, also. Then I creeped myself out. Just the other night, several of us were talking about the old question, If you could go back in time, could you...

@Noel7, I creep myself out all the time.
I'm not sure about your "several of us were talking about the old question, If you could go back in time, could you..." Are you wondering whether you would have, um, "stopped" him?

Yes, but it usually comes as reference to the baby Adolf. I am pretty sure of my answer.
