Re: Debiting checking account for payments

Another thing is when you write a check and they do it electronically yes they do have that info permantly.  Either a electronic copy or the EFT info. What do you think they do with the paper check. Most of the time they send it through the register then hand it back. If they don't hand it back who is to say they will dispose of it properly.

Re: Debiting checking account for payments

If you do not wish to pay by check, with a $5 fee, then you will have the automatic withdrawal from your checking account. To have an automatic withdrawal you have to consent to it and probably give the HOA a blank check with the word void, and they will set it up. Basically instead of paying from your end, the HOA is guaranteed the funds every month from their end.

Organizations do this all the time. It saves them time and money.

Either way, the HOA has to be paid and think about it, everyone else living in your community will have to abide by the same terms, you are not alone.

Pay them in CASH!!!  They'll go crazy.  Or Pay the whole year with one check and only one $5.00 charge.

This is exactly what I would do....I always pay it all anyway and be done with it.

Thanks carebears. Problem solved. no more whining from me. It's upsetting some posters. I'm just wondering why they even bothered to read my post if they thought it was whining.

I,look,at it as just conversation like we were all having a cup of tea at my kitchen table discussing different things.

People that consider it whining should find a something else to do other than read message boards on a shopping site. I would never insult people like some of these people do. But then again, it's easy to hide behind a keyboard.

Be well everyone and thanks for all your reply. Nice ones and not so nice. Have a blessed thanksgiving.

Problem solved. 😃😃😃😃

The solution?

Deal with it, and accept that as fact.

It isn't going to change just because one doesn't like some of the responses.

Re: Debiting checking account for payments

@Ditzydori  I can understand your concern.  I would never want my bank account tapped for an automatic payment. ( Recently, after much consideration and considerable savings, I allowed my carwash where I go weekly to charge my credit card monthly.  I can keep close tabs on it and cancel at any time.)  I have a HOA fee and, if purchasing another home, I would not choose to participate in another HOA.  I like the idea of paying for a year's worth of fees with the one time payment.  Take a deep breathe and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday!

I didn't like it at first eather, but many services now require it.  It saves everyone time and money.  Most Gov't and banks automatically deposit money in you account, does that bother you?

@KKWA...the difference between government checks and a HOA payment is...the government is GIVING you your money, the HOA is taking money out of your account.  I still send checks or have bills paid via my credit card.  No one has access to my checking account.

@Ditzydori I hope you are not taking it personally, some people are not happy unless they are trying to make someone else miserable, I posted a recipe not too long ago  breakfast caserole, and someone replied stating they they did not like breakfast casserole, then why did she even open the link, some people need a life!  I understood your frustration, as I have had money taken directly from our account without our permislon, those who have not do not understand how that feels, but those who have, have every reason to be frustrated, hope you continue on the forums not everybody is negative!  good luck, and Happy Thanksgiving!
