@Kachina624 wrote:@reiki604. Thanks for the information but I'm aware of all the sources. There just isn't enough in other foods except for oranges which are too acid for me.
Foods that pack more potassium than a banana include avocados, potatoes, sweet potatoes, coconut water, and other foods. All it would take is a simple google search.

On the local news this morning they showed the workers on strike at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale and also the Port of Miami. Lots of products come into those ports for us, hope they resolve this soon.

@Bhvbum. I can think of something I'll need that can't be stored, and thats bananas. I must eat one large one daily for the potassium. A drug I take depletes potassium so I must get my banana. Other fruits and veggies contain it but not in sufficient quanity.
With the outrageous demands the dock workers are making, it may be a long and costly strike.
This might be a good time to buy a bottle of a potassium supplement for banana emergencies ... and peace of mind.
@Tinkrbl44. Doctors say they're undependable and usually ineffective. Recommend against depending on them.

FYI, the tariffs have never been removed. .

@Kachina624 Google high potassium foods other than bananas and a significant list shows up. Would love to provide you the link but, well, you know. Anyway, among others: spinach, watermelon, dried apricots, avocados, sweet potatoes, lentils, beans, butternut squash, potatoes, coconut water and on and on it goes... Go to healthline dot com nutrition loaded with potassium... No idea how easy or hard some of these are or will be to find. Hoping the latest insanity is short lived.

Potassium supplements are so low dose that one would have to take a whole bunch of them to get the RDA

@stevieb. Thanks, iv3 done considerable research on potassium rich food. Trouble is, most contain such minute amounts, you'd have to eat a ton. It's very concentrated in bananas so I choke one down daily. Maybe I'll freeze a bunch.

@Kachina624 , Most of those listed are stated as being as high or higher levels than in bananas. It was also noted:
"Bananas do have a lot of potassium but eating one banana a day won't meet your potassium needs alone. A medium banana has about 420 mg of potassium, so you would have to eat more than 11 bananas to meet the 4,700 mg that most adults should get each day."
Personally, I have no real experience, just citing what I read. Anyway, good luck finding what you need.
