[Enufstuff]

  Toni has just returned from her farm vacation.

Every August, Toni visits her aunt and uncle, at

their farm in Maine.

  She helps her aunt to feed the chickens and

they collect eggs, every morning. Toni loves

playing with the little goats.

 Sometimes, she and her aunt go to pick wild

blueberries and strawberries. She helps her aunt to make delicious desserts with the berries.

 Her uncle has a very large vegetable garden and Toni likes to help him, when he picks the vegetables. They are so delicious, fresh from the garden.

 Toni had a fun time in Maine and now, she is back home, getting ready to go back to school.

She is excited to see her school friends and to wear some of her new dresses.

  Toni is wearing her chicken print dress. The top is yellow dotted Swiss. The little chicken button at the neckline, is from France.

  She has her little basket to collect eggs for breakfast.

  Included are some pictures from my vacations, visiting my aunt and uncle in Maine.

Hi @Enufstuff !  I wasn't aware that Toni mimics your past childhood adventures!  How sweet!  It looks like you had a wonderful childhood with lots of precious memories.

@Coastalcarolina  Toni's adventures are loosely based on my stories. In Maine, our aunt and uncle didn't have chickens or goats. But with the chicken print dress, I wanted to have Toni's story include chickens. Uncle Bert did have a huge vegetable garden and there is nothing more delicious than vegetables fresh from the garden.

  Aunt Eva and I never picked berries. Poor Aunt Eva, I don't think that she could even bend over to pick berries. I did pick wild strawberries in her yard and I did pick blueberries with their neighbor, Zeleka.

  Zeleka was a Native American MicMac woman. I loved Zeleka and I would visit her and her husband, at their log home. She took me blueberry picking and taught me how to make a blueberry pie.

I was so impressed that she didn't even need a recipe to make her pie.

  I did have a lot of fun times as a child. I loved going to Maine, but the only thing I didn't like, was the lack of indoor plumbing.

I just LOVE ❤️ your post!  Your pictures as a child are such a nice touch to Toni.  I love everything about her lovely little chick dress, braids and tiny basket!  It looks exactly like some my mom and I made at the county co-op.  I think she's my favorite!  I only WISH Toni could visit my little vegetable farm.

I love little Toni's dress, with the swiss dot bodice and little chicken skirt! You are quite the seamstress. 

You need to write a book. It's so interesting how you integrate your stories with her's. I love it.

Toni looks lovely of course and while the dress is so pretty and beautifully crafted, my favorite is the little chicken on her green ribbon. So clever. The little basket is adorable.

So dang cute!  That chicken print fabric would make a great quilting fabric.  Just so precious and the right proportions for Toni's dress.  Everything about her outfit is perfection.

Your family photos are delightful.  Your Aunt and Uncle looked they they really must have enjoyed having you and your brother around.  Such cute kids you were. 

Your parents are relaxed and happy...and I'm looking at your mother's shoes...were they loafers of some kind?

No wonder Toni is always so fashionably dressed...you appear to have had a wonderous childhood with loving family.  Toni reflects all your happiness and affection for that time.

Her braids and basket are beautiful!
