Back in 2013, when I started having severe right hip pain, I started sleeping in my daughter's old room so I wouldn't disturb my husband with the constant moving to try and find a position that helped with the pain. Eventually, I had my hip replacement in 2015 and continued sleeping in that room because although my hip pain was gone, I couldn't sleep on my right side like I always did. It felt like I was lying on a rock. So I was still moving a lot at night. After a year, I was able to sleep on my right side again. But then I was having left hip pain. I had that hip replacement in 2018. And started sleeping so well in that bed and room that I never left it!! It was like being free! I don't have to worry about disturbing my hubby. I usually get up once or maybe twice if I've drank a lot of water before bed, but I sleep so good!! I had a friend who told me several years ago that she and her husband slept in separate rooms. I always thought that was crazy. Not any more! I'll be 69 in a few months. We've been married almost 49 years, and we both sleep just fine!! 💕

As long as I'm not in pain, I sleep well.  I do have to get up several times at night but I usually go right back to sleep.

No.  Not even as an infant, and it has not improved with age.

I am a night owl also.  I don't know how I managed to commute to Seattle everyday and start work at 7:30 am but I did!  Some nights I will just read all night because I hate to just toss and turn in bed.  I never take naps.  I like to get up about 8 am but since this pandemic I sometimes have been known to sleep until 10 am!

I hope no one thinks less of me but...I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who has trouble sleeping through the night!!

The only thing that works for me is Nyquil and I know I shouldn't rely on that too much so I wind up sacrificing some nights to the Very Little Sleep category.

Ugh.

Re: DO YOU SLEEP WELL?

[ Edited ]

Nope, I don't sleep well. As it is, I rarely fall asleep before 2-4 in the morning. And then I'm up every couple of hours to go to the bathroom. Sometimes I find it easy to fall back asleep, sometimes I don't. Melatonin does nothing for me and I refuse to use anything stronger than Benadryl every once in a while.

Luckily, I'm retired so I can usually nap whenever I want. Except, that is, when I go to dialysis. For some reason I'm not able to fall asleep there. I just close my eyes and rest.

I wish I could get 8 hrs no interruptions it would be fantastic! Good luck to you I share your feeling!

I had bad dreams on Melatonin too. I got to the point that I avoided it at all costs. My husband uses it sometimes and he has no issues with it.....

I sleep like a baby.  Some nights I have a hard time falling asleep, but most nights I fall asleep fairly quickly & sleep all night long, unless I have to pottie.

THIS helps tremendously!
