from home.  She has an hour commute each way normally, so getting those extra 2 hrs. a day is great. No getting up really early, fighting traffic and saving on gas is good too.  Also, no office drama.

Now, she does miss getting out and about some but all in all she's happy with the set up, not the reason for it obviously.

I know some don't like it at all and will be ready to get back.

For me, it's nice to have her here for lunch, but other than bathroom breaks, I don't see here from 8:30 am to noon, and from 1:00pm to 5.

I realize she has no kids to worry about and that makes a big difference.  She does have a feline "co-worker" that occasionally gets the boot from her office.

Do you like working from home?

I’m working full time from home now, too, but from 8-5. I do like it in some ways. I also miss my office but I feel safer working from home right now. Safer trumps everything else.

I told myself I’m not allowed to do any work outside of office hours and I’ve been good about that. When my boss dropped some work off at 5pm today and asked if I wanted her to pick them up in the morning, I told her it would be afternoon before it is done. If they want to pay me OT I’m all in but that doesn’t happen often and they squirm like you wouldn’t believe trying to figure a way out of it! It is kind of amusing.

At work, I spend a decent amount of time on the phone so my door is closed much of the time. I almost always miss the office dramas & only find out if/when someone mentions it to me.

My employer really watches out for us and offered me the option to work from home as soon as things started to get serious with the virus. It took some work to get it set up but things are pretty good now. I think it will be a while before I feel safe going to the office again. I don’t think there should be a big rush to get me back in the office but time will tell.

I spent a couple of decades working from home as a medical transcriptionist. My last year before retirement was spent working in a large medical facility. I loved both.

Smell that? Smiley Wink It is dinner, almost done - I cooked a turkey breast in my crockpot today. I put it on during a break! That is a perk that I don’t get to enjoy working at the office.

As I mentioned yesterday, I do miss my nice office, but I also enjoy working from home. I don’t really have enough space to work from home long term though. I’d really want a designated room or defined space. Right now my office is my living room.
