For some reason, a donkey is able to kill coyotes. At least, that's what everyone around here says who've got them. Actually, I think their kick is so powerful, they're able to scare them off...or so I've been told. May not be true.

We have lots of coyotes and bobcats in our neighborhood now that the greedy developers north of us have stolen and destroyed their habitats. Most all the ones I see look thin and hungry. I see at least one or two every week and have changed our walking plan to avoid the creek where some of them hang out. One coyote attacked several runners from behind in a neighboring area and severely hurt them. The wildlife agency finally trapped him and moved him farther into open country.

We are so overdeveloped and have taken away so many wildlife habitats...I just hate it. Now some neighbors found two black vultures in their front yeard finishing off something....ewww. Have never seen black bultures here before but at least they only eat dead things...so are not dangerous to humans or their pets. The hawks take care of the small pets.

@Goldengate8361 I agree 💯.
I know I will be slammed for this (not meaning you) but humans have taken away so much of natural habitats that wildlife has had to adapt and it's not easy for them, not at all.
Humans have forgotten how to live in harmony with wildlife.😞

Coyotes are standard in my neighborhood, along with bobcat, cougar, bear, and javelina. We love the wildlife but are always alert to the dangers. Our cats are indoors always and if we walk, we carry a walking stick and a pistol.
Last year a neighbor was treed by a javelina!

@cheriere It is true. A donkey will react to a threat with loud braying, stomping, and aggressive movements. The same with horses.
Natural reactions in the animal kingdom. The coyote needs a food source it can handle.
Coyotes usually hunt alone so larger prey are not on the menu so to speak.

Thank you for letting me know for sure about this.😃❤️
I thought and hoped this was the case because a lot of people in our community have got donkeys for this purpose.
