How do they know it wasn't the woman, the mother, calling out for help before she died? I'm more amazed that the baby survived in an upside down car for 14 hours!

It was obvious to the officers that the woman had been dead for many hours. Once they got them to the hospital, the doctors estimated that she had been dead for around 14 hours, based on the condition of the body. It looks like the mother was dead on impact.

An amazing story! What a beautiful family. I hope the family can find peace knowing that the baby miraculously survived. I certainly do believe in miracles.

No, the fisherman saw the car upside down in the water under the bridge. He didn't go near it. He called police who then came and searched inside the vehicle.

Re: Cops alerted to living baby by ""mystery voice"" from car

What I found so interesting was that the cops responded to the voice. I heard a clip of their interview with Anderson Cooper and they reported that they kept saying, "Don't worry, M'am, we're doing the best that we can." The voice kept repeating the plea for help. They were shocked when they discovered that the only adult in the vehicle was very obviously dead for a number of hours before they got there.

Anderson C. covered this story last night and had the 4 officers on. They were stumped at the "voice".

It was also reported the baby was doing better and singing, smiling and responding to family members.

Your post says it best.
