Most childproof tops are two part and if you remove the outer shell you will have a conventional screw on cap.
It requires a little work and for me pliers but it is worth the effort. I have a collection of caps that have been removed from their "childproof" tops and simply replace existing tops with the rescued screw on caps.
Most childproof tops have three or four nubs that hold the screw on cap in place. Using pliers I break off the sections with the nubs and pop out the cap. Sometimes only removing two of them is enough.
When it comes to resealable bags, the ones with the tear here markings, I cut the top of the bag leaving as much distance from the sealing strips as possible then cut out a small section on one side to give me some "grip" space to ease access to the sealing strip making it easier to pull them apart.

You can also tell the pharmacy to note your account to put non-safety caps on the bottles or remove the child-proof spinner on bottles from the manufacturers.
Just make sure to check before you leave the pharmacy. We have airheads that work at our CVS.

@CelticCrafter They must be related to the ones that work at our CVS!

@Marp I have also used a screwdriver to remove the cap. I just push it under the outside cap then pull up on screwdriver.

"Tear here" bags are such a bother. I usually just use a scissors & just cut the whole top off. If its a product that I won't completely use up, I just close the top with a bag clip.
I really hate the Tide Pods containers! The screw lid is so big & wide. I have to spread my fingers out so far to get my hand around them. Then it's difficult to squeeze & turn the lid to open. When I get a new container, after I finally get it open, I transfer the pods into a big Lock & Lock container.

For prescriptions, when I worked at Walgreens, if someone noted no-childproofed, we just flipped the cap over and the same child proofed cap becomes a stopper that you can just push off.
If you have those, just turn your cap upside down and it becomes non childproofed.

I found a flip-top cap to fit my bottle of Rx pills. What a find!

@grandma2pkmh, when I first started un-childproofing lids I used a screwdriver as you described. Unfortunately due to dexterity problems I ended up hurting myself one too many times hence the pliers method.

Some my supplements come with flip-top caps so they too are saved and used on other bottles.
Unfortunately they don't work on the size Rx bottles I get but do have the dual caps on them.
Did you find commercial flip-top caps and do they come in a variety of sizes?

The flip-top cap I used on my bottle of Rx pills was one I had saved, as I usually do with caps, b/c I never know when one will come in handy. My bottle of Rx pills is not your usual kind of Rx bottle. It's more like supplement bottle.
