@SilleeMee The smaller part of the cap should fit completely inside the bottle not outside if you have a cap that is able to do that. Just like the old cotton balls in the neck of the bottle is where it should fit, if it is able to do so. It shouldn't touch any part of the outside threads.

@SilleeMee They don't have those at our CVS and Costco anymore, IDK why! Makes things difficult. I had to sign a waiver not to get childproof caps. They usually put the flip back kids on, but forget now and then. Those things can LOCK I MEAN LOCK AND NOT MOVE!!!

Yes I get what you're saying but the cap on my bottle has threads on the part that goes to the inside of the bottle. I have to twist it open. No way to just push it off. Has to be unscrewed to remove cap. Looks like this:

@SilleeMee, that is the type cap that comes on my prescription meds.
I did a search on Amazon earlier for flip top lids for pill bottles and they have several pill bottles with the flip/hinged lids and one listing with snap lids. Unfortunately the only lids only configurations were for liquid bottles like ketchup or salad dressing.

@Laura14 : We use Publix Pharmacy and turn the caps over for the traditional screw off top.

I often transfer the contents to a plastic pharmacy bottle with a snap-on lid. They are handy to have around.
Example, I don't take that many things, but the bottle that Benadryl comes in gets opened only once. The cute, hot pink pills are transferred to a see-through container.
I hate fighting with bottle caps!

Sometimes transferring meds to other bottles can be a bad idea on many levels plus some meds are light-sensitive and should be contained inside a light-protective bottle.

My pharmacy automatically replaces child proof caps with easy open caps.
I have arthritis in my thumbs. I bought a couple of those cheap silicone things you use to open bottles.
I also found a way to use the palm of my hand to open bottles. I stick the lid in the middle of my palm and squeeze it. I don't hurt my thumbs or fingers.

I read all the comments here with great curiosity. I get my prescriptions filled at CVS and all of them are done with the easy to open non childproof caps.

Both my thumbs no longer work, even hand surgery is no longer an answer.
If I need an immediate opening I take sandwich bags to the Rx and they can open the lid and then I can dump them in. Lids go into the trash instantly.
You can also store open bottles, Rx and supplements, upright in a locknlock type container. I learned the hard way to never, ever take them out of the original bottle. Loose pills are hard to ID 😂
