I think they bought a software package and a lot of things we don't necessarily like or aren't appropriate we got whether we like it or not.  These silly titles are one and the "best answer" is another.  Either enjoy them as it's probably the only place you'll ever be "exalted" or ignore them.

It would be nice if we didn't have to quantify everything.

I wish all of those status names would be "Welcomed Contributor"  and forget all the meaningless designations.

@Miranda1550 In the old days, posters would go by how many posts you had because we had a lot of trolls back then. Gamers could have a lot of posts.

For me, neither way means nothing. I think you learn in time who you can believe and trust.

There are a lot of wonderful men and women on these boards.

Just enjoy and have fun posting.

        @tansy, I looked at one of the prolific picture posters (gotta love that alliteration!) who has over 40,000 posts -- if it's true it's only based on post counts, I'm thinking the software on this forum stops with "Honored."   Eventually, everyone can be "Honored" and then maybe we can all be outraged about something else...

@dooBdoo And there are a lot of us that had huge number of posts before this change. And as some of us saw, some of these people you couldn't trust.

We are adults here and I don't need to have a title.

@TeachRsPet  I think many of the die-hard Ripka and Pollack fans have taken their discussions to boards elsewhere.  Either that or the products have really slipped in popularity.  Either seems possible.

@Sister Golden Hair  Yes, I remember all of those things from back then..lots of trolls. I would play games once in a great while, but not often. There would be some gamers that seemed like they did nothing else but play the games. I would never see some of them in the other forums.

I must admit, I did miss the forums set up the most when the change occured though. I'm glad it has improved somewhat since then

I only notice my (or other posters') post count or 'title' when this subject is brought up. Then for maybe a little while I will notice, then back into oblivion for me, lol. Since it seems it came with the software package, I am ok if it stays or goes.

QVC announced before they ever switched over to the new forum that any posts prior to 2010 would not show up. It was explained why (software recognition) well in advance. I read it more than once.

LM*O that some of the posters who are so adamant that we don't "need" titles are those who have lost post counts,  and also seem to be very "into" post counts. Could it be - oh, no! - that they are just upset because they don't have the title, and what they feel is the "recognition", that they would have if their post numbers were higher? 

It's a plot - a plot, I tell you! 😜
