I would join the military and become a jet pilot.

I'd go with fighter pilot, but ONLY if there was a guarantee that I'd be able to do it. That was my first career choice, and while both of the service academies that I was considering said I "could" become a pilot, there were no guarantees (not that I think there should be, but hypothetical discussions allow for a "perfect" world) I'd be choosen for pilot training and at that time, women weren't allowed in combat aircraft.

Anything to do with animals. Maybe a vet or wildlife rescue rehabilitator. If not that, then a lawyer. Taught school for nearly thirty five years and one of my favorite courses to teach was a law class to twelfth graders. Even the students told me I should have been a lawyer. That's just two ideas, but I'd would have loved to have tried a few different careers.

I'd like to re-do my 70s HS years. So much I would change.

I’m a former elementary teacher, but in my next life I’m going to be an anthropologist like Indiana Jones!

For my entire working life (45 years) I've been an office worker--file clerk, to admin assistant, to office manager--and for the most part I've enjoyed the work. Not always the people/environment I've worked with/in, but the actual work has been good.
However, and y'all are going to think I'm crazy, after the first 10-15 years of working, I would've loved to become a homemaker, housewife, whatever you want to call it! I would've enjoyed more time at home, and having time to volunteer more at my church (which I will be doing when I retire in a year or so).

An astronaut. If I wasn't so old now, I would want to go to Mars as soon it was possible....which is predicted to happen in about 10 years from now. But I hope I will still be alive to see the first man to land on Mars. If I was a kid right now then I would want to be an astronaut when I grow up.![]()

@vermint good for you. There is always need for people to volunteer. Mr Cherry and I decided to get back in harness, and do this again. It is so rewarding, I am sure you will be a valued asset
