I can also still remember my mom's face when I was relaying this information to her when I got home . . . oy!

Matching the furniture? Now that's serious. For a kid, putting up a rope that is supposed to mean "don't go beyond this point" is the biggest reason to go beyond that point lol Your mom must have been stunned.

Re: Colorama Adult Coloring Book

A couple of friends were talking about the new surge in coloring books for adults a few months ago. The last time I was at Michael's I saw a couple of them mixed in with the craft magazines.

Better have an electric pencil sharpener and the huge box of colored pencils-

I used to color with my students all the time. It is very relaxing-

I have one book but prefer doing zentangle doodles. It is relaxing until my fingers cramp up on me. Who knew Advil is a necessity for adult doodling?

The one thing to keep in mind is that this was in the midst of the avocado green/burnt orange invasion . . . the color palette alone probably shocked the socks off my mom!

Isn't it funny, I can't remember what I had for breakfast but I can still see that living room in my head . . . Smiley Happy

Re: Colorama Adult Coloring Book

I have not bought this book, but have used many others that are almost identical. I was a teacher, now retired, and books with copy pages like this one have been a go to of mine. There are times in classes when a couple of students finish work early and it is just not a good time to start them on another assignment. I would give students copies of these kind of sheets to fill in during brief transition times. When I was younger, I worked in a kindergarten and this is where I learned about them. The teacher had coloring contests and fun activities with them. I also used coloring pages from an anatomy coloring books for doctors. My science students loved them. These were part of lessons. Great for medical and nursing students. These, I would color, too.

What is that coloring book that's always been around? It's not just a book, it has pages almost the size of posters....... you know, the pictures are white of course except everything else around it is black velvet..... Lisa Frank? Well, I like those, too.

Re: Colorama Adult Coloring Book

I've enjoyed coloring for years.  It IS very relaxing.  Lately most books, except the new adult ones, have been activity books with dot-to-dot, finish the picture, mazes...things like that.

I've looked at some adult books and some do look like it would take a long time to finish a picture.  I haven't found one yet that appeals to me enough to buy it.  I may go looking for one of cats, like another poster mentioned.

I dont have the colorama ones, but I do have some from Amazon that I enjoy. Stained glass and floweres. I bought the crayola pencils and they work great.
