I'm telling you, it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen and get this . . . the ropes matched the furniture!
The whole room was in creams and a french blue . . . I can still see it in my head, it is seared into my brain . . . and she probably did hire ushers but then again maybe not. I don't think too many people were allowed in that house . . .
I can also still remember my mom's face when I was relaying this information to her when I got home . . . oy!
Matching the furniture? Now that's serious. For a kid, putting up a rope that is supposed to mean "don't go beyond this point" is the biggest reason to go beyond that point lol Your mom must have been stunned.

A couple of friends were talking about the new surge in coloring books for adults a few months ago. The last time I was at Michael's I saw a couple of them mixed in with the craft magazines.
Better have an electric pencil sharpener and the huge box of colored pencils-
I used to color with my students all the time. It is very relaxing-

The one thing to keep in mind is that this was in the midst of the avocado green/burnt orange invasion . . . the color palette alone probably shocked the socks off my mom!
Isn't it funny, I can't remember what I had for breakfast but I can still see that living room in my head . . . ![]()

What is that coloring book that's always been around? It's not just a book, it has pages almost the size of posters....... you know, the pictures are white of course except everything else around it is black velvet..... Lisa Frank? Well, I like those, too.

I've enjoyed coloring for years. It IS very relaxing. Lately most books, except the new adult ones, have been activity books with dot-to-dot, finish the picture, mazes...things like that.
I've looked at some adult books and some do look like it would take a long time to finish a picture. I haven't found one yet that appeals to me enough to buy it. I may go looking for one of cats, like another poster mentioned.
