Re: Colorama Adult Coloring Book

My daughter who has been coloring for a long time recomends only using the Crayola Pencils because they work the best.

I saw an ad on tv for this item.  Although it doesn't appeal to me, I can imagine that it would be a calming and creative way to pass time.  Has anyone here bought this item?

Yes, I got mine off an HSN show (I do enjoy doing this). I used to doodle as kid and color it in. It's calming and as artistic as I can get! LOL The ad on t.v., also included some water color pens, that HSN ad didn't. Not artistic, so I don't miss that. Not yet anyway.

I totally agree, I think they're the best ones yet.

I like Prang pencils.  You can dip the ends in water and they color like watercolors.

There are a lot of free pages online, so you can print them off and see how you like it before you invest in a book.

I like this one:

He looks like the Penn State Nittany lion, I would color him blue and white.

Re: Colorama Adult Coloring Book

I have become absolutely addicted to coloring!!!!  I ordered that Colorama set from HSN.  (I believe they've presented the set twice and it sold out quickly both times.) It's the same set as "As Seen on TV".   Since then, I've purchased additional books (did I say "addicted"?) and quickly found that you never have enough colors!!!!  I'm using fineline water based pens or sometimes colored pencils.  I have a set of 60 gel pens on order!  What a fun hobby!!!  I agree with others.....it is very relaxing.  Of course, I always love to color as a child, so I guess I never outgrew my fondness for this hobby!!

Re: Colorama Adult Coloring Book

I am retired and have been coloring for years ... at one time I let it go for a coouple years, but when I returned to it I still had a lot of pages left in my book ... then when I went looking for more, there were none to be found ..

Then I discovered Amazon ... I now have three that I am working in ... I have my own sets of colored pencils ... I babysit my grandson, and he and I sit at the dining room table and color together ... I love this hobby ...

Re: Colorama Adult Coloring Book

There are a lot of adult coloring books on Amazon and elsewhere. It's a new trend and looks like a lot of fun. I enjoy art (mostly painting) as a hobby, and my DD is in art school. I am always tempted to use her professional colored pencils, but they were $100 for the set (not even the biggest size set), so I wouldn't dare use them to doodle. They are highly pigmented and so beautiful. It would be hard for me to revert back to a lesser quality colored pencil after I test drove those babies. Spoiled me. Cat Tongue

Lola, you can buy watercolor pencils as well, but you really need to use watercolor paper, which is much heavier to absorb the water and not make the paper warp so much upon drying.
