@deepwaterdotter wrote:I saw an ad on tv for this item. Although it doesn't appeal to me, I can imagine that it would be a calming and creative way to pass time. Has anyone here bought this item?
deepwaterdotter: No I haven't bought them because those types of coloring books have been around for years. LOL
There are also some that have stained-glass pictures to color - the paper is semi-transparent. Those have also been around for years.
I guess this is the new "thing to do" but it's really not "new".

I would like a coloring book of fashions on ladies. Different back grounds could be in gardens, oceans, log cabins or sitting on rocks, etc.
I would call the book Kattie King Designs. Old funny book. Loved looking at the fashions as a child in the funny book. It was my dream book.

@goldensrbest I just use regular Crayola pencils. Inexpensive and easy to find. Have fun!

I like Bic or Sharpie fine and extra fine markers because the colors are vibrant. They tend to bleed through the paper, though, so use only in books with pics on one side of the pages and put a piece of paper behind the page you're working on.

I have always loved to color and just bought the set of 4 Zendoodle coloring books from Evine. I'm not crazy about the Crayola pencils though, the colors are not vibrant enough so I'll try some of the brands mentioned in the thread.

More choices coming - Crayola is launching their own line of adult coloring books.

I saw some of these coloring books at Wal-Mart. They had a couple of different brands. Actually they had some up in the books section, and some back in the crafts section. I'm not sure how they compare price-wise, but it's nice to be able to look at the books and see the intricacy/difficulty level, as well as how much diversity of designs is offered in each book.
