I drank Tab too. I remember my dad, who did all of the grocery shopping and cooking, bought it for me. I drank it right through college and after I graduated. When Diet Coke came out, I switch to it. I can't stop drinking diet coke. I cut back a lot but I have to have it in the AM, no coffee.
I always think if I were going to die from drinking diet Tab/diet coke, it would have already happened. My mother died at 93 and still loved her diet coke. I guess I am headed that same way.

A staple n the 70's, went on to Diet Coke for years. Then, 12 years ago quit altogether. Interestingly enough, when I quit soda, I immediately dropped 18 pounds. Never had soda since!

Coca Cola is discontinuing its diet soda Tab, which came on the market in 1963 as one of the first diet sodas. Coke says it's a "slimming down" move (surely they intended that pun in making the announcement).
I remember when Tab came on the market -- I drank it for years, including my many purchases from the vending machine in the lobby of my dorm at college. In fact, that stuff got me through college!
I don't know at what point I switched over to Diet Coke, to which I'm addicted, but I haven't had a Tab in years. However, on the rare occasions when I spot one of those pink cans, I have fond memories of it and my college days. It was a staple when I studied for exams.

That is the only time I drank soda. My Mom rarely allowed soda in the house. So when I went away to college - watch out.
The college bought Dutch Schultz house and the college used it as a dorm. There were only 10 rooms but thankfully Coke put in a soda machine off the lobby.

I love all these stories. We must all be about the same age. Tab has not been available in my town for many years, but I sometimes would buy it again when I traveled for the sake of nostalgia. I now drink Diet Coke all day long everyday.
