Coca Cola Getting Rid of Tab

Coca Cola is discontinuing its diet soda Tab, which came on the market in 1963 as one of the first diet sodas. Coke says it's a "slimming down" move (surely they intended that pun in making the announcement).

I remember when Tab came on the market -- I drank it for years, including my many purchases from the vending machine in the lobby of my dorm at college. In fact, that stuff got me through college!

I don't know at what point I switched over to Diet Coke, to which I'm addicted, but I haven't had a Tab in years. However, on the rare occasions when I spot one of those pink cans, I have fond memories of it and my college days. It was a staple when I studied for exams.

Tab was my go to drink too. I'm also very fond of Diet Coke, but I've cut way back.

@Pearlee..cute story.. lol. Many people of a certain age have those fond memories of growing up w/Tab.. 🙂

I was a SERIOUS Tab drinker back in the 80's. Hard core.

My drink of choice now is Coke Zero Cherry Vanilla.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

didnt tab go away another time and then come back?

my mom and i used to drink a lot of tab during the late 70s. i cannot say i have even noticed it in my grocery store at all.

right now i am having some difficulties finding caffeine free diet coke and caffeine free diet pepsi.

drank lots of tab as a young woman .... I went on a two week TAB fast one time to lose weight.... TAB and cigarettes! Nothing else. OMG what was I thinking at 21 years of age

I always thought this was one of the grossest sodas out there. I cannot believe anyone was still drinking it.

Absolutely Had to have my TAB when i was in college! Every nite went down to the coke machine to get a bottle of TAB. TAB and ciggies and hit the books. and then the Grapefruit diet in the spring to try and lose the freshman 15. with the rope exercizer tied to doorknob!
